Thank you for participating in doTERRA’s
February 2018 BOGO Week! Here’s some
basic info to go along with your essential oils.
Reach out with any questions!
Topically
Essential oils can also be used topically by applying
them to our skin and diluting them with a carrier
oil. The best places to apply essential oils topically
are the bottoms of feet, spine, and back of the
neck. When looking for targeted support, apply
directly to the area of the body you want to
address. Upset tummy = apply DigestZen around
belly button and lower abdomen area.
Internally
Certain essential oils can be used as dietary
supplements for targeted wellness. This method is
great to use when dealing with support of the
digestive or immune systems and when looking to
aid the body in cleansing and detoxifying.
The Basics

Topically
Dilution with a carrier oil is recommended to ensure a positive experience!
Carrier oils = Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) // Grape Seed Oil // Almond Oil
Avoid oils near the eyes and never drop oils directly into the eyes or ears.
Citrus oils are photosensitive, so avoid using them 24 hours before direct sun exposure.
Extra dilution for young children, elderly, and individuals with sensitive skin.

Rule of Thumb: Less is more. Use small amounts, often. Consistency is key!
Internally
Make sure the bottle has a "supplement fact box" on it. That means it can be used internally!
Add a drop to your daily water intake in a glass cup.
A drop under the tongue also works or a homemade supplement in a veggie capsule.
When adding oils to your daily water intake, always use a glass or stainless steel cup.
Straws should also be stainless steel!

Balance
The Grounding Blend
1. Add Epsom salts and a few drops to a hot bath for a relaxing soak that will
provide comfort and release tension.
2. Diffuse in your car during road trips to create a relaxing environment.
3. Begin your day by putting Balance on the bottom of your feet to promote feelings
of calmness and tranquility throughout the day.
4. Balance is a great oil blend to use during an AromaTouch® Hand Massage.
5. Apply to your wrists or neck to help ease anxious feelings.
6. Apply 1-2 drops on the back of the neck and inhale when feeling disconnected or
out of sorts.
7. Make a 10mL rollerball bottle with Balance, Lavender, and Ylang Ylang and apply
to pulse points and over the heart to ease anxious feelings throughout the day or at
nighttime.
8. Apply several drops along spine just before bed to promote tranquility and
relaxation.
9. Balance blends well with Frankincense and Blue Tansy. Also, Lavender and
Serenity®. Diffuse any combination of these oils together with Balance.
10. Try the Liquid Calm blend of Balance and Serenity® in your diffuser daily - at the
office or at home to encourage a calming environment for all.

8 ounce spray bottle. Top with distilled water.

Marjoram
Essential Oil
1. Add 6-7 drops to your diffuser to relieve feelings of anxiousness, grief, hyperactivity,
loss of sleep, tension and feelings of stress.
2. Try adding 2-3 drops to 1 ounce of fractionated coconut oil and massage into sore or
stiff muscular, joints, sprains and other musculoskeletal discomforts.
3. Use 2-3 drops in a carrier oil relieve occasional constipation, indigestion, and flatulence.
Massage on affected areas or the lower back.
4. Add 2-3 drops to a carrier oil and massage on lower abdomen and lower back to
alleviate menstrual discomfort around that time of the month.
5. Add a drop to a dampened cotton ball and dab it on gently to the affected area to
relieve occasional skin irritations and discomforts.
6. Try adding several drops to a steam tent and inhale the evaporation, or use it in your
diffuser to support clear breathing.
7. Marjoram essential oil can help to alleviate occasional discomfort. You can use it
topically by adding 1-2 drops to a carrier oil and massaging over the area of concern.
You can also add a few drops to your diffuser or take 2 drops internally in a veggie
capsule daily.
8. One recipe in particular calls for 1 drop each of Frankincense and Marjoram in an
empty veggie capsule, taken 2-3 times a day to help with general physical discomfort.
9. When taken internally, Marjoram keeps you healthy by aiding in the removal of
toxins, sodium salts, and excess water from the body.
10. Add 8-10 drops to your bath water for a refreshing soak.

10 Ways To Use
Cardamom
Essential Oil
1. When cooking with Cardamom essential oil, start with a very small drop—essential oils
go a long way in flavoring food.
2. To support your digestive system or reduce stomach upsets, use 1-2 drops topically,
aromatically, or internally. Also consider combining with DigestZen essential oil blend.
3. If you are having trouble with stomach gas, add 1 drop to water, or 1-3 drops to a
veggie capsule. You could also massage it over your lower abdomen.
4. Cardamom can help eliminate bad breath. Place a tiny amount on or under your
tongue.
5. For muscle discomforts, add Cardamom to a massage oil (like AromaTouch) for a full
body massage, or apply 1-2 drops in a carrier oil over the aching area.
6. Cardamom essential oil can be used to uplift your mood, much the same way as
citrus blends can. Try diffusing Cardamom along or with your favorite citrus oil
throughout your room, or massage 1-2 drops over your chest area.
7. Cardamom is excellent when used in bath water, and will leave you feeling refreshed
and stimulated.
8. Because it is extremely gentle, it can be used in cases where Ginger and Peppermint
may be too strong for children or very sensitive individuals.
9. Cardamom’s strong taste and rich fragrance make it one of the world’s favorite
cooking spices. Use it to accentuate savory dishes or in delicious baked desserts. It can
also be added to tea or coffee for a unique taste experience.
10. Inhale or diffuse Cardamom when feeling angry to bring balance and mental clarity.

Cardamom | Essential Oil
“Be Happy” Rollerball Blend
Add 10 drops Cardamom + 5 drops each Bergamot and Cedarwood in 10
mL rollerball bottle topped with FCO. Roll on reflex points. Because Bergamot
can cause photosensitivity, avoid sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after
applying OR avoid applying to areas that will be exposed to sunlight.

Cilantro
Essential Oil
1. Cilantro in the diffuser can lift spirits, warm hearts and help to create a fun party
atmosphere. It is especially powerful when diffused with Frankincense.
2. Add 1 drop of Cilantro and 1 drop of Rosemary to a half glass of warm water, stir
and sip to bring relief when you experience occasional digestive discomfort.
3. Apply 1-2 drops over the area of concern and to the reflex points of the feet to
alleviate environmental threats.
4. Many people who struggle with sleeplessness have found that diffusing several
drops of Cilantro before bed and throughout the night has helped them get a good
night’s sleep.
5. Add 2-3 drops to a small amount of coconut oil and apply it over areas of muscle
discomfort to reduce feelings of musculoskeletal discomfort.
6. Diffuse with Frankincense and Clary Sage when you are dealing with feelings of
stress or exhaustion to relax and soothe.
7. Cilantro is soothing to the skin, and can be added to your daily skin regimen.
8. DōTERRA’s Dr. David K. Hill has referenced a study done on the effects of Cilantro
and its benefit in chelating mercury from the body. It has shown amazing potential for
being helpful in heavy metal detoxing.
9. Consider using Cilantro essential oil when cooking (instead of the herb). Start small
with less than a drop and add more as needed. Add a drop or less to your guacamole
or salsa!
10. Apply to your nails and toes to cleanse and detox, keeping them healthy and clean.

1. Give your body a relaxing break and get a massage using Deep Blue
Soothing Blend.
2. Apply a few drops of Deep Blue Soothing Blend to your feet and knees pre-
and post-workout to comfort and soothe.
3. To assist your growing child during their growth spurts, combine the Deep
Blue Soothing Blend with a few drops of a carrier oil and massage into their
growing legs before bedtime.
4. Diffuse with DigestZen® to alleviate occasional upset stomach, especially
nausea during that time of the month!
5. Rub a few drops on your shoulders after too much time at the computer.
6. Apply to neck and shoulders to promote feelings of relaxation and lessen
tension.

Light Blue Rollerball Blend
