The story begin when a

young man who just finished his Friday prayer and could not find his brand new pair of
leather shoes that he bought as a gift to himself in getting the promoted been send to a new
branch office as a new branch assistant manager. Knowing that his shoes might have been
stolen, have pissed him off greatly. He had to walk to his car on hot tar with only his stocking
has made his anger further increase. When he gets into his car a series of curse slip out of his
mouth toward the thief that stole his shoes. Just when he was about to take off, suddenly an
old man twice his age come running to the front of his Kancil, repeatedly slapping on his car
hood, shouting and yelling for him to stop while dragging a teenage boy by his shirt collar,
which he assumed to be the old man son. The young man stops his car engine and come out
of the car and ask the old man what happens.
The old man said that he is sorry and when the young man asks the reason why the old man
suddenly asking for forgiveness. The old man said, It is because of his son, which he was
dragging by the collar had stolen the young man shoes. The teenage boy was pulled from
behind to the side of his father. The teenager face was red from the heat and together with
embarrassment from being drag and being accused as a thief in public by his own father.
Above all else, his squinting small eye was filled with confusion. When the young man asks
the old man how did he know about his shoes gone missing, the old man said that he saw him
walking toward his car without wearing shoes. Other than that the old man also said that his
wife saw his son take the shoes, while the old man glancing to the back to point out his wife,
which still quite a distance away trying to chase after her furious husband and her son.
The father anger toward his son finally burst as shame and guilt have taken over him. He
shakes the boy and shouts at him, and every time the father face come near the boy, he would
cringe like a shrimp with a stomach ache. The shoeless young man try to calm the father by
placing his hand on the father shoulder while trying to remind him to calm down. The father
realising his guilt put his anger under control. The young man makes eye contact with the
mother who was slowing down in running toward them, in the hope of trying to convey the
sense of urgency the situation between the father and the son. The young man try to take the
boy away from the father but before he could do so, the father anger already explode and the
boy nearly fell onto his knees.
The father shouted at the boy and when the boy weak knees give up and he fell to the ground,
the father pulls the boy back up thinking that the boy was trying to trick him into letting him
loosen his choke. The father squeezes the boy’s cheeks together to stop him from talking
back to him, even with the mother scream for her husband to stop in the background, hoping
that it might bring some sense into her husband‘s head but her running and shortness of
breath hindered her. The father treatment toward his son getting more and more violent, this
time the father started using both of his hand violently on the boy face and neck, rocking the
boy’s body and rattling his skull. The young man tried to stop the father and again before he
could stop the father a series of slap already land across the boy's face till the boy drops to the
ground. Finally, when the mother arrives she immediately dropped onto dirt where the
faltering embrace of her teenage boy who was lying on his back in a state of disorientation
from severe rattling of his skull and the state of great pain from the slap.

boy again. Before the mother brings his son home, she reminds the young man about his
shoes that she dropped on the ground together with her plastic bag during her rush to save her
son. The young man quickly goes to pick his shoes up and on his way, he also picks the boy
mother’s green plastic bag. When the young man picked his pair of leather shoes and give it a
swift swipe to bring back its lustre of new shoes. Instead of being happy about his shoes the
young man was greeted with shock because the pair of leather shoes was not his.
