XN-10_11/20_21 Installation checklist

Check item Check Values

I. Installation environment
1) Check that the installation place is appropriate in terms of
temperature, humidity, wind, dust, vibration, water leakage, ―
sunlight, noise, and lighting.
2) Check that the installation space is appropriate. ―
3) Check that the installation floor has sufficient strength. ―
4) Check that the power supply and grounding are appropriate. ―
II. Unpacking
(1) Unpacking
1) Check that the instrument, and all of the consumables and options

are contained in the package.
2) Check that all of the accessories are contained in the package. ―
3) Check the instrument for any damage. ―
(2) Disposal of packing materials
1) Check that you have separated the packing materials and put

them in garbage bags.
III. Installation
(1) Installation of docking base
1) Check that you have installed the docking base in appropriate

orientation.
(2) Removal of securing fixtures used for transportation
1) Check that you have installed hex socket screws for positioning at

appropriate position.
2) Check that there is sufficient space (50 cm or more) at the rear

side.
3) Check that you have attached all fixing screws for main unit. ―
4) Check that you have removed all transportation fixing tapes. ―
5) Check that you have removed two clips for fixing drive mechanism

in front cover.
6) Check that there is no fluid leakage or damage inside the

instrument.
(3) Installation of sampler unit
1) Check that you have properly assembled Slider Assy and secured

in Table Assy.
2) Check that you have disconnected one end of USB cable in

sampler cover.
3) Check that you have secured sampler onto docking base. ―
4) Check that you have removed all transportation fixing tapes. ―
IV. Connection
(1) Connection of pneumatic tube and control cable
1) Check that you have correctly connected pneumatic tube to main

unit.
2) Check that you have connected control cable to PCB No. 90014-

J2 (main unit).
3) When sharing a pneumatic unit (XN-2000), check that you have

connected the wiring cord between the main units.

(2) Connection of waste tube


1) Check that you have connected waste tube between waste nipple

and waste tank.
2) Check that you have placed waste tank lower than instrument and

in accessible position.
3) Check that waste tubes have been secured. ―
4) Check that waste tubes are within 8 m. ―
(3) Connection of reagents
1) Check that you have connected DCL using intake tube provided in

main complete. (Intake tube length must be within 2m)
2) Check that you have connected DCL/WDF/WNR/SLS using intake

tube provided in main complete.
3) Check that you have placed WDF/WNR/WPC/RET/PLT-F cartridge

in appropriate position.
4) Check that you have neatly arranged the tubing. ―
(4) Installation of IPU
1) Check that LCD, keyboard and mouse have been connected

correctly.
2) Check that other peripheral devices have been connected

correctly.
3) Check that you have connected the power cord. ―
(5) Connection of USB cable
1) Check that USB cable has been connected between XN main unit

and IPU correctly.
2) Check that USB cable has been connected between sampler unit

and IPU correctly.
3) Check that you have neatly arranged the cables. ―
4) Check that reagents have been primed. / Chack that there is not

any leakage in main unit.
5) Check that you have confirmed there is no problem with various

adjustments.
(6) Connecting power cables
1) Check that power cables for main unit, sampler and pneumatic

unit have been connected correctly.
V. Preparation
(1) Recheck before turning on the power
1) Check that all the tubes and connection cords are correctly. ―
2) Check that you have removed fixtures used for transportation and

fixtures.
(2) IPU setting
1) Check that IPU starts up properly. ―
2) Check that system configuration has been set correctly (System

Configuration).
3) Check that touch panel setting has been performed. (if used) ―
4) Check that GP Printer setting has been performed. ―

VI. Operation checks


(1) Turning on main unit (service mode)
1) Check that the instruments have been started properly. ―
2) Check that installation sequence has been performed. ―
3) Check that ethanol has been aspirated in setting sequence. ―
4) Check that reagents have been primed. / Chack that there is not

any leakage in main unit.
(2) Checking main unit status
1) Check that you have checked pressures. ―
2) Check that reagent errors have been cleared. ―
3) Check that you have checked HGB/blood aspiration sensor blank

level. (within 5000 +/- 200)
(3) IPU setting II
1) Check that you have registered reagent. ―
2) Check that you have set security setting and power option. ―
3) Check that you have checked Container type "Normal" setting on

Piercer Adjustment.
(4) Operation check
1) Check that blank analysis (analysis without aspirating sample) has

been completed without errors.

2) Check that barcode reading has been performed without errors. ―

3) Check that GP printer has been printing correctly. ―


(5) Checking optical alignment of FCM detector
1) Check that optical alignment values are within specified ranges

when performing FCM optical alignment at installation.
VII. Final checks
(1) Turning power back ON
1) Check that instrument has started up correctly after turning

power ON again.
2) There is no background errors. ―
(2) Checking sensitivity adjustment
1) Check that sensitivity is within specified range when running

calibrator.
(3) Checking performance
1) Check that repeatability values are within specified range when

running normal sample (or control blood).
2) Check that values are within assay sheet range when running

calibrator.
3) Check that values are in assay sheet range when running control

blood.
4) Check that you have attached results of precision check

(repeatability) and calibration.
(4) Shutdown
1) Check that shutdown has been completed without errors. ―
(5) Visual checks
1) Check the instrument has no dust or dirt. ―
2) Check the instrument has been installed parallel to the floor

(level).
