Plan to use Soft Board effectively for grade 1st to 5th

Purpose :-

1) Content summarization
2) Student motivation program (SMP)

1) What we Plan to do with regards to content summarization

--The key points addressed in each class will be summarised at the end of the class through a recap and jotting them
down on Chart paper on soft board.

--So it is like a quick revision of the class by asking students questions and is noted down on chart. And in grade 4
and 5 students can also be given a chance to note down on chart.

Eg:-Grade 5 / Volume 2/ Science chapter/ How do animal survive

Class 1 Habitat
(a place which provides favourable condition for living organism to survive)

Terrestrial habitat- animals living on land- forest, desert, polar region, mountain

Aquatic animals- animals living in water- fresh water, ocean

-- in subsequent class teacher will read out from the chart what was done in previous class as a quick revision and
start teaching further.

Same way at end of the class, teacher will again summarise and note down on the chart paper doing the recap of the
important pointer taught in that class.

--so there would be a flow chart which will be formed on the chart paper over a period of time for a chapter.

Eg:- continuation

Class 1 Habitat
(a place which provides favourable condition for living organism to survive)

Terrestrial habitat- animals living on land- forest, desert, polar region, mountain

Aquatic animals- animals living in water- fresh water, ocean
Class 2 ↓
Terrestrial Habitat
Forest- huge area coverd with large no of tree, animals live in caves, underground, on tree,
Eg:- tiger , liob, deer, monkey,
Desert – dry windy, sandy land , receives very less rainfall, hot day,Cold night, scarcity of water
Eg:- camel, ground squirrel
Polar region - Artic and antartic area, extremely cold, covered with snow, very less vegetation
Eg:- penguin, polar bear, seals

Mountain region:- rocky surface, cold climate, snow in winter-
Eg:- mountain goat, leaopard
--while preparing the flow chart teachers can also choose to stick pictures with the information.

As in our books one chapter is broken down into many days.

The above Technique of content summarisation will help
a) Students to see progression and link in the chapter
b) Gives student visual map of chapter thus helping in building memory
c) Better understanding of the chapter as teachers form consistent habit of recap, revision .
d) The content is always available for quick reference
e) It also gives instant clarity to Principal and Planners during their observation to see progress and lag.

2) What we plan for students motivation program (SMP)

-- On the same chart each class teacher can write down few of the children’s name who have either behaved well,
answered well, actively participated etc for that class.

-- Students whose name has been mentioned more than 3 times by end of the chapter can get sign on book mark.

--What do we need for implementation?

1) 1 feet by 4 feet space on soft board per subject. So approximately 6 ft by 4 ft size soft board in each class .
2) Chart papers
3) Sketch pen/ marker pen
