MOTIVATION LETTER

Dear Reza,

With this writing I would like to express my motivation to go on

exchange. My name is Evelyn Franca Caesarini and I am a medical student
in Univesitas Pelita Harapan in 4th Semester. Participating in an exchange
has always been one of my dream ever since I started looking at universities.
That is why getting into a University that offers an exchange program was my
priority and this was also one of my main reason on why I joined the
organization CIMSA. I believe that this exchange is going to be a huge
addition to my studies and is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity, which
will contribute to my development in many ways. I will write some of my main
reason on why I should be considered to represent UPH for this program.

First of all, gaining experiences and knowledge is one of my main

goals. On 2014 I participated in a language school program for one year in
Germany. Living abroad for a couple mounts has opened my eyes so much
about how different everything is in the other side of the world. Because of
these aspects, I really want to be able to experience it again, especially in my
own field. By studying abroad, I believe it will definitely develop my skill and
enhance my education about medical science. As a student from a
developing country, I think it will be a great opportunity to gain and expand as
much knowledge from other countries with tremendous progress in medical
field.

Secondly, to work with different groups of people with different cultures

will increase my skill as a person. Becoming independent is also one of the
advantages that I will gain through this program. By going on exchange I can
get deep insights into another culture, which enriches my life and gives me a
different perspective of the world. Knowing other cultures would be valuable
for me to get well acquainted with regarding my study plan and career plans.
Certainly it will also give me a chance to represent and introduce Indonesia to
other countries, which is a big honor for me. It is always worth meeting,
working and befriending new people. Also, to be taught by specialist and
professors from other country will also be beneficial for my future, especially
because I am considering on continuing my study abroad after graduating
from UPH

Lastly, going on exchange gives me the chance to further improve my

English. Although I already had many lectures which were in English, but
when there are no internationals participating in conversations between
students, most students tend to talk Indonesian all the time. As a result of this
I have not yet developed my English to the level I desire, since one learns a
language best by speaking it a lot. If I get accepted in the country, which
mother language is not English, that means I even have the possibility to
learn another extra language and being able to speak multiple languages is
advantageous for my career ahead

In conclusion I think that studying abroad will be a valuable experience

from which I can benefit in the future. I hope that I am able to convince you to
pick me as a representative from UPH to join this exchange program.

Yours sincerely,

Evelyn Franca Caesarini
