 Located in south-central Oregon.

 Crater Lake’s depth is 1,942 feet deep.

 The deepest lake in the United States and the seventh deepest lake in the world.

 Labeled as a caldera lake due to previous volcanic activity of the eruption of Mount
Mazama.

 The Klamath Indians, the descendants of the Makalak people, are the founders of Crater
Lake.

 Wizard Island is located in the middle of Crater Lake and is a crater summit.

 Wizard Island’s formation is due to volcanic lava build up.

 Crater Lake was established as a national park in 1902 by William Gladstone Steel.

 Receives an average of 512 inches of snow a year.

 Snow fall at Crater Lake occurs from October to June.
