In today’s fast-paced, technologically-driven world, adults need to be more equipped than ever
with the agility and education required to meet the demands of today’s workplace. Therefore,
having access to a variety of learning and skill development opportunities is critical to ensuring
tomorrow’s workforce is ready – today!

In alignment with our Chairman’s AT&T priority to “Equip our people for the future,” and in
collaboration with several ERGs including CWA, engineering, collections, corporate
communications and external and legislative affairs, The Women of AT&T Tennessee hosted
their 2nd annual free Adult Education Fair at AT&T’s downtown Nashville headquarters on
Friday, June 22. The half-day event attracted more than 200 future gamechangers from the
Middle Tennessee area.

The Women of AT&T Tennessee Adult Education Fair was designed to assist the working adult
to enhance their career with opportunities presented through continuing education. Together,
we partnered with more than 20 schools under the Middle Tennessee Higher Education
Alliance and Tennessee Reconnect program, which provides scholarships for adults eager to
earn a tuition-free associate’s degree or technical certificate.

A press release and media advisory, along with a promotional flier was sent to local Nashville
TV stations which resulted in media coverage and interviews on the CBS, NBC and Memphis
NBC-TV affiliates which ran several times during the news cycle.

In addition, the free educational fair was also promoted by participating colleges via social
media and email to local GED/HiSet community programs and audiences including Jobs for
Tennessee Graduates (see attached flier), the Nashville Downtown Partnership newsletter
(more than 25K subscribers), and the Women of AT&T Tennessee social media platforms of
Twitter (@woatn1 – 67 followers), Instagram (@woatn1 – 135 followers) and Facebook
(Women of AT&T Tennessee – 138 followers). We had seven volunteers tracking more than 70
volunteer hours. Local elected officials were also invited to attend.

This year’s Adult Education Fair was so successful that participants overwhelmingly expressed
their desire to return - to collaborate on our goal to equip people for the future and expose
them to career opportunities they never thought possible.
