Good morning,
My name is Natalie Hood. Ms. Angela Manz mentioned that you may be interested in answering a couple of my
questions pertaining to my senior project. I am a senior within the Legal Studies Academy at First Colonial High School,
and my senior project is centered around the topic of Accessibility to Healthcare for Veterans. I have created a
symposium, called “Medics and Cadets,” for veterans and local JROTC cadets to attend while questions about the
healthcare system will be answered and recorded. The recorded symposium will be uploaded to the Library of Congress
for anyone to access. If you are still interested in answering a few of my questions or possibly attending the symposium
as a part of the panel, you may contact me by phone everyday after noon or anytime by email.Copied to this email is my

My thanks to Angela for thinking of me. I’ve heard about programs like the Legal Studies Academy at First Colonial and
I’m very glad your teachers, staff and classmates keep these programs so strong. Healthcare for veterans? That’s
where I live. I served 7 years active and it’s hard to believe another 15 in the reserves. I’m a colonel and a judge
advocate. I’ve been involved in veteran healthcare for many years certainly have insights I could share.

I would be interested to be part of the panel. What time and date do you have in mind?

I think I can make that. You mentioned it’s a panel discussion. How many on the panel? What exact topics are
intended? Do I deliver any prepared remarks or are we only there for questions?

I am looking for no more than 4-5 panelists due to venue spacing. The topics will be covering facts pertaining to why
delays in the healthcare system happen, experiences, and possible ways to avoid delays. You may prepare a quick 1-2
minute speech including who you are, work experience, and where your passion for your career is derived from. I truly
hope you can attend as a panelist because I believe you would be a vital asset in educating our future leaders.
