How to use the basic tools of Adobe Animate for a frame by frame animation:

Here I’ll explain a quick step by step process behind frame by frame animation.
This tutorial will have a very small example but you can refer back to my presentation
for more complete examples.

Step 1: Open a standard project on Adobe Animate

Step 2: Add a couple of layers for your project!

Step 3: Using the line tool, add three guidelines to help you keep your animation
proportionate.

Step 4: Using the brush tool and the oval tool, draw your stick person to begin the
animation! Make sure that you’re drawing on a layer over your guidelines layer and at
you are in the first keyframe.

Step 5: Turn on “Onion Skin Outlines”. This will show you the previous frames behind
the current keyframe you’re on. This will help keep each frame similar to the previous
one to make an accurate animation.

Step 4: From here on we’ll draw each frame adding a new keyframe after each drawing.
The purpose of this example is to make the person walk.

Bonus Step! If you’d like to, add a background! If you don’t add one on the lowes layer
the stick person will save by themself and would blend nicely on presentations and
such. For a more artful project put a background behind them.
