The Atomic Bomb

Millions of people dead caused by the first dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima

and Nagasaki in japan. War cannot be on by destroying women and children. Also, many people

were sick and didn’t have homes. Then, Hiroshima was no longer a city but a burned over

prairie. I believe the atomic bombs were unjustified because women and children were

murdered, including the fact that many people were homeless, Also, afterward Hiroshima was no

longer a city.

In Hiroshima and Nagasaki millions of helpless women and children were instantly

murdered in 1945. "Admiral Leahy felt that the use of the atomic bomb on japan was

unnecessary"(Document 2). If everything was destroyed wars cannot be won. "Admiral Leahy

thinks the use of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was ethically wrong"(Document

2). The use of the bomb was wrong because they were already defeated. Because of the bomb

defeating women and children the bomb was still dropped.

Many people were sick and didn’t have homes." People were living in different

places"(Document 7). The atomic bomb caused people not to be able to have a home, so they had

to lay on the floor, they needed help, they were suffering, and had nowhere to go. "The third

picture it looks like the baby is sick"(Document 7). It is unsafe for the baby to be outside of a

home because of the chemicals from the bomb. In conclusion, the atomic bomb has affected

many lives and made everything horrible.

Hiroshima was no longer a city but a burned over prairie. "How small Hiroshima was

with its houses gone"(Document 6). With everything in the city gone it wasn’t the same

anymore. "To the east and to the west everything was flattened"(Document 6). Everywhere you

look it would be empty, there were no homes, buildings, or anything. In conclusion, Hiroshima

had been destroyed and they had no place to go.

The atomic bomb was very unfair which caused people to be hurt and homes be taken

away and not having city. Nothing can be solved by taking people away. Homes were burned

because of the bomb. Hiroshima wasn’t the same anymore.
