Netball was not initially interesting to the speaker because they thought it was only for females. However, after being encouraged by their coach, the speaker decided to try netball. The speaker found that netball was not about gender, but about the spirit of playing. While the speaker's school team lost their competition, playing netball changed the speaker's perspective on trying new things and not seeing victory as the only measure of success.

One Of The Sports I Play In School Which Is Netball
Good morning to Ms tye and my fellow friends. Today, I am going to
talk about one of the sports I play in school which is netball. When I first knew about this sport, I was not interested in joining netball beacause from what I heard, it is a sport where only females will play. The first thought that came to my mind was this sport was obviously too girly for me but I guess I was wrong. My coach in school always encouraged me to at least give netball a try but again and again, i refused. Then, there was this one time when I thought about giving netball a try and i did it. I was completely wrong about netball. It was not about the girly issue but instead it was about the spirit of playing this sport. When I first joined the training, I was shy and nervous at the same time but I was sure about this one thing — I am very dedicated to take on this sport. As days passed by, I got better in netball. I even got chosen to be in the school’s team. Even though our school team lost in the competition, we knew that victory was not everything. In the end, netball has truly changed my perspective towards life and that I would never be more grateful to try out new things in life.
