JOB NAME: INSTALLATION OF FIRE PUMP AND JOCKEY PUMP
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. SCOPE OF WORK
GENERAL: Supply of labor, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to do the work in
accordance with UPPC supplied documents, information and as describe below.
1.1 Site inspection and measurements
1.2 Design and detail engineering
- Pump house / equipment layout
- Machinery foundation (use PME code guidelines)
- Piping system from suction header to discharge header
- Electrical and instrumentation (POWER SUPPLY-UPPC SCOPE/CONTROL CABLES FROM
CONTROL PANEL TO ENGINE ARE RB SUPPLIED AND FREE INSTALLED)
1.3 Unloading of shipment from container van and hauling to storage site
- Contractor to supply lifting equipments (cranes, etc.) (UPPC SCOPE)
1.4 Construction and modification of pump house
1.5 Construction of machinery foundation of fire pump and jockey pump
1.6 Installation of fire pump and jockey pump
1.7 Installation of fuel oil supply tank, fittings and accessories including fuel piping from tank to engine
- Install secondary containment for fuel tank
1.8 Installation of piping system from suction header to discharge header and tapping works on UPPC
long shutdown (December 2016)
- Installation of all necessary pipe supports and clamps
1.9 Installation of diesel engine and fire pump accessories
- 1 unit-Enclosed Waste Cone and Main relief valve
- 1 unit-flow meter
- 1 unit-automatic air release valve
- 1 set-pressure gauge (suction/discharge)
- 1 set-dual battery, cables and battery rack
- 1 unit-exhaust flexible connector
- 1 unit-muffler
- 1 unit-cooling loop
1.10 Electrical, instrumentation and control
- Mounting of fire pump and jockey pump control panel
- Laying power cable from reliable power supply (to be defined during site inspection) to control panel
(fire pump jockey pump control panel) (UPPC SCOPE)
- Laying of control cables from control panel to field instruments (FREE INSTALLED-INCLUDED IN
REDDY BUFFALOES SUPPLY)
- Termination works (UPPC SCOPE) – (included in GIC proposal)
1.11 Painting and housekeeping (see painting notes)
1.12 Others
- Provide necessary work and workers protection (PPE’s)
- Maintain the working area free and clean from any construction rubbish at all times

- The Contractor should guarantee his work, materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year
after acceptance of the work

Welding notes:
- Root pass: Use 6011 welding electrode
- Second pass/final capping: Use 7018 welding electrode
Painting notes:
- All carbon steel exposed to environment shall be painted with the following:
 Pipes: 1 coat red oxide primer for initial coating; 2 coat QDE international red for
final coating
 Pipe supports/building structures: 1 coat red oxide primer for initial coating; 2 coat
QDE medium grey for final coating
 Others (consult job owner)
Pipe and fitting notes:
- All Gate valves shall be OS&Y, cast iron or cast steel with AMSE B16.5 X CLASS 150 flange
- Pipe grade: ASTM A53/A106 SCH40 GR.B, SEAMLESS
- Fittings: B.I. SCH40
- Flange: B.I. ASME B16.5 X CLASS 150, raised face
- Bolt: Grade 8.8, hot dipped galvanized
Other notes:
- Contractor should provide full time supervisor to supervise the whole erection period and also serve
as safety man
Attachments:
- Schematic diagram of the system
UPPC TO SUPPLY THE FOLLOWING:
- Electrical power and water for construction use at designated tapping point
- Contractor van for temporary storage of tools and equipments
CONTRACTOR TO SUPPLY BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Pipe and fittings and valves (UPPC SCOPE)
- Bolts and nuts
- Construction materials (cement, sand, gravel)
- Steel bar reinforcement
- Pipe supports and clamps
- Electrical and control cables, conduits, fittings, etc.
- All consumables (oxygen, acetylene, welding electrodes, cutting/grinding wheels, electrical
consumables, paints, etc.)
2. SUBMITTALS
2.1 PUMP HOUSE DRAWING / EQUIPMENT LAYOUT WITH DETAILS
2.2 MACHINERY FOUNDATION DRAWING WITH DETAILS
2.3 PIPING ISOMETRIC AND LAYOUT
2.4 ELECTRICAL PLAN AND WIRING SCHEDULE
2.5 DETAILED ESTIMATES (BILL OF MATERIALS AND LABOR)
3. SAFETY REQUIREMENT
Secure “WORK PERMIT” signed daily by JOB AND AREA OWNER daily prior to start a work.

4. EXAMINATION OF SITE
Bidders shall be responsible to examine the site and conditions herein.
5. CHARGES IN WORK
UPPC, without invalidating the Contract, may order extra work or make charge by altering, adding to or
reducing the work.
