CHUYÊN ĐỀ 1: NGỮ ÂM, TRỌNG ÂM

I. NGỮ ÂM (PRONUNCIATION)
1) Nhận dạng phụ âm “ s / & / z/”

Notes: Quy tắc thêm “s” và “es” vào danh từ ở dạng số nhiều / động từ chia ngôi thứ
3 số ít:
Động từ/Danh từ tận cùng O, S, X, Z, CH, SH (Ôi Sông Xưa Zờ CHẳng SHóng) thì
thêm ES.

a) Phụ âm /s/

• Khi phụ âm [c] đứng trước e,i,y -> phụ âm c đọc là /s/
C
• âm [s] đứng đầu của từ vẫn đọc là /s/
S
• âm [s] ở bên trong một từ và không ở giữa hai nguyên âm -> đọc /s/
S

b) Phụ âm /z/
S Âm [ s] đứng giữa 2 nguyên âm trừ nguyên âm+ s+ ia, u, io -> đọc /z/

Z Từ chứa âm [z] -> đọc /z/

2) Quy tắc nhận dạng /s/ và /es/

/S/ Nếu /s/ hoặc /es/ đứng sau các phụ âm p, t, k, f, th, s

_ Từ đi mượn của ngôn ngữ khác: author, anthem, athlete, method

/ð/ _ Đứng trước nguyên âm /e/ cuối một động từ như breathe
_ Thường là [th] đứng giữa từ
_Một số đại từ nhân xưng, đại từ tân ngữ : thou (ngươi), thee( danh xưng mày
tao), they, them.
_ Một số đại từ và tính từ sở hữu: thy( của mày), their, theirs, thine (của anh).
_Một số trạng từ và liên từ: there, then, than, thus, though, thence.
_Một số phó từ phức hợp: therefore, thereby, thereafter, thereupon…

C Thường là từ chỉ nhạc cụ trong dàn nhạc

T [t] đứng trước [u], nằm trong âm tiết không nhấn trọng âm
Eg. Future, picture
Trong đuôi STION, STIAN

CH Ở đầu, giữa, hoặc cuối từ

Eg. Child, cheap….

Notes: / ar + ch/ -> [ch] đọc là /k/

Một số từ gốc Hy Lạp thì [ch] đọc là /k/ như ache, chorus, chaos, chord,
scheme, scholarship, schedule, character, chemical, toothache, stomach, chord
