The following text is for question 17 and 18

Mobile phones

Currently, the number of students who bring mobile phones to school is increasing. They are
allowed to do this by their parentsfor emergency reasons. From my point of view bringing mobile phones
to school can be accepted, as long as it does not disturb learning activites in the classroom.

Students commonly go to school and come home without their parents. In the case, I belive that
mobile phones are essential. If the students get into some trouble on their way, they can phone their
parents immediately.

Moreover, the parents need to inform their children every time have to get home late from work. I
have no doubt that mobile phones are very useful for parents. Parents can easily contact relatives to take
care of their children when they have to be late.

Nevertheless, what makes mobile phones annoying is the fact that the ringing of the mobile
phones can interrupt the learning process in the classroom. The students will also concentration when they
text their friends.

In conclusion, my attitude towars this case is that student can bring their mobile phones to school
for emergency cases, as long as they turn them off in the class.

The following text is for question 23 to 27

To whom it may concern

“Indonesian idol” is na annual Indonesian televised singing competition wich has been airing on
RCTI. Part of the idol franchise, it originated from the british reality program “pop idol”. “Indonesian
idol” is a combination of a reality show and a talent search show. Unfortunately, instead of giving the
opportunity to anyone who has talent and capable to be promoted as an idol, i find some weaknesses in
this program.

Sometisme, the winner is not guaranteed to have a quality of a good singer because the winner is
merely determined by public voting by phone and sms. Most of these voters do not consider the jury’s
comments on the contestant’s performance because they would prefer focusing on the contestant’s
physical appearance and personality rather than his/her singing quality.

As a consequence, after the competiton is over, only few of the winners get the chance to be
professional singers. Why is it so? Because they don’t have great skills to be professional singers.
Furthermore, most of them only have little experience in thein the show business, while being
professional singers need a long process and time.

My suggestion is that “Indonesian idol” should not determine the winner based on the
contestant’s popularity. The singing quality of earch contestant should be the first priority.

Yours truly,

Pinky baboe semarang.
