High water usage can occur as a result of either A) unaddressed leak or B) water usage habits of the

people living on the property.

A) to find out if there’s still a hidden ongoing leak, you can do a little test: turn off all the taps
incl. central heating and take a meter reading. Wait an hour and take another reading. If
there is a difference between the two readings, it means there is a leak somewhere.
B) Water use habits – toilet flushing and personal washing count up to 50% of daily use. So, try
to:
- Running tap while you brush your teeth, can waste up to 5 litres of water per minute!
- power shower can use more water than a bath;
- dripping taps can waste at least 5,500 litres of water a year
