Laura Soileau is a CIA, CRMA and CPA who discusses the daily challenges facing today by
Internal Auditors. With her article "The Future is Bright", she thought about one of the IIA's
Internal Audit Education Partnership (IAEP) program called LSUCIA which can be the foundation
of internal auditors in preparing for the Certified Internal Auditor exam.
She believes that the next generation of Internal Auditors will have a big part in advancing
the profession in the future because they have the interest in developing their knowledge and
skills which can make a positive impact in the career of the Internal Auditors in the years to come.
With the ability to blend in the variety of technical backgrounds and core concepts of Internal
Auditing learned by the IAEP program, it will contribute to the Internal Audit Departments that
they will ultimately join.
This program will help the students to be close in the wide variety of risks that is faced
today by many in our profession. It will provide a strong foundation for students who is interested
in an Internal Audit career and have an opportunity to practice and get comfortable in the
possible situations that might happen in our profession.
With this article, we must assure that we build up the generation of professionals who
have passion and excitement to have knowledge for the success of the Internal Audit career. We
should recognize the important role of Internal Audit profession to us students as we become
the future practitioners in the industry.
