MRT Noise Pollution Survey

Tn Hj Saleh (PZ65) and Lt Col Idris (PZ125) has been working on behalf of PZ residents to
negotiate with local authorities regarding the MRT noise affecting our neighbourhood. Please
provide your indication of support and feedback.

Dear All,
Just to inform you that Sdr Hj Saleh and me have been persuing quietly but relentlessly the claim
that the 25 Hse ( hse 35 Pn Rohini - hse 83 Mr Ho Lee Yoke be compensated in form of full double
glazing glass to shut out the excess noise from the passing MRT trains . Also further mitigation
measures for others who are effected too. This is our second meeting with DOE at Putra Jaya the
rst bring was held on 4th Jan 2018. .

Chronology of Events -

1. 20/12/17 - O cial complaint made at DoE HQ. Relevant documents and reports submitted
through email.

2. 4/1/18 - Meeting called at DoE HQ with MRTCo, Rapid Rail, PDP and PZ reps plus TTDIRA
Chairman

3. 5 and 7 January 2018 - DoE KL did noise measurements at 65 Pinggir Zaaba for a 24-hour period

After a few follow-ups meeting con rmed on 1/6/18

4. 1/6/18 - Meeting at DoE HQ with MRTCo, SPAD, Rapid Rail, PDP and PZ reps

Meeting briefs

- DoE KL briefed on results of noise measurement done in January 2018

- Meeting Chairperson (Pn Rohaimah - Pengarah Bahagian Penilaian) asked MRTCo on noise data
before construction, details on operating hours and compared current landscape against before

construction

- After detailed discussions, Chairperson decided that mitigation measures by MRTCo is not
su cient and requested for MRTCo to mutually agree with PZ residents on extra mitigation
measures.

- Chairperson requested for another meeting to be chaired by SPAD (the regulator) including
Ministry of Transport and DBKL to iron out details on mitigation matters that would also have effect
on DBKL green initiative (LA21).

Meantime, appreciate inputs or suggestions from residents of PZ on mitigation measures for the
Jalan PZ with special emphasise on the 25 houses which are directly effected.

Sdr Saleh and me have spent a lot of effort, time and own money to ght for the well being of PZ
residents on this noise mitigation issue . We expect residents to be proactive in giving us their
ideas and suggestions.

With the new government in power we now believe MRTCO cannot get away with the normal
hogwash they have been giving us in the past.

Limited Commercial Proposal Survey

En. Abdul Rahman (PZ77) has been leading the community effort for the Limited Commercial
Proposal for our area.

[5:37 PM, 7/2/2018] Abdul Rahman PZ77: To all friends

On 27th June..I had a meeting with Hannah Yeoh regarding the Limited Commercial Proposal
(LCP) for our area..
I gave her a brief summary background on the issue and an update on on current status .. how
the issue came about which involves many houses in Pinggir Zaaba (odd numbers) fronting the
MRt track and Sprint highway totalling about 67 houses..about an earlier aborted proposal by
MRT co to acquire the houses..about the failed suit led by 11 residents agst Mrt co...the Town
Hall meeting..objections by residents of Persiaran Zaaba..no mention of Lim Lip Seng as this
cud be sensitive..
To answer her inquiry..I told her that under our earlier proposal residents were given an option to
keep their houses as residential home..and that this option will be maintained..
Mentioned that some properties have already been converted for commercial use..
Informed her that about 80% of residents currently supported the LPC..

Her response was positive..she said will study the matter and maybe speak to DBKL..
In the meantime, she suggested we do a petition to DBKL and copy it to her..
Separately we can also write to her appealing or seeking for her assistance.
Lastly she indicated that she is willing to meet with our committee to discuss further on this if
needed.
[5:39 PM, 7/2/2018] Abdul Rahman PZ77: Now it is up to us to show her our commitment..hope
that at least 80%.of residents support the LCP or have no objection to it.
