My assignment this week was, to sort checks and vouchers. To see if all checks are accounted
for, they are matched with the supplementary. In this way I can find out whether a check is
missing (the supplementary records a check that isn’t in the voucher box), or if the
supplementary isn’t showing the record of an existing check.

I learned about the importance of stamps. Under the stamp act it is imperative to use stamps.
A stamp is basically a small adhesive piece of paper stuck to something to show that an
amount of money has been paid. It is used to authenticate documents.

I learned to appreciate all forms of work no matter how meagre they seem. Every task has its
importance. For example, the task of stamping is relatively easy, yet without doing this task
the bank cannot authenticate its documents.

It was a usual week at the office. Interaction with all the co-workers was as usual. Most of the
conversations where work related and the rest were mostly world cup gossip. Due to world
cup cricket matches there was lots of talking at the office.

I sensed some animosity between the staff of the branch and the auditors, even though they
acted very professionally with one another. I expected as much, since auditors investigate the
work of the staff and can hold the staff accountable for any mistakes or errors.
