Journal 3

In my third week of internship, I did not do much new things these days. Mostly I did things
which I learnt in the previous weeks. I had to do more of printing, scanning that week. I also
wrote a few vouchers for those customers who came to collect remittance money sent from
abroad. I mostly took letters to other departments to get them authorized. I also wrote a few
amendment letters this week.

In this week I learn some basic staffs of general banking. They are listed below

Account Opening

Account Closing

Remittance Entries

Matching Online and ledger amounts

Preparing Thanks Letter.

I think I am now fully accustomed to the work life and have achieved a decent work life balance.
I have learned a lot about banking environment, its people and its culture. I still have a lot to
learn though in order to completely get familiarized with this environment. But now I can blend
in a working environment, especially a bank.

Another day at office with the usual office schedule. I did however talk with an unhappy
employee who is also General Banking section officer Lata apu. She was not particularly just
unhappy with the job but with life. She thought life was very unfair for the majority of middle-
class people as the 1th percentile of rich individuals enjoyed the lion share of wealth. He clearly
was not happy with the current system of capitalism. She was also unhappy with her monthly
bonus because she got low grade and lost 2 bonuses. There were also having problems with the
officers and in charge. Having someone confide in you is a truly quiet an interesting experience.

Everything seen on the surface is not always as it seems. The people in the office may seem to
get along just fine but that is usually never the case. Usually people have grievances or quarrels
with one another that they don’t express. For these reasons an HR staff should be present at
every branch with which the employees can discuss these issues.
