Subject: Surface Design Techniques – IV Total Marks: 40
Semester: VI

Students are required to do the following:

1. develop Design a range of 6 pieces/ ensembles (garments or fashion accessories for women’s/
men’s or kid’s) indicating a choice of surfaces based on applicable design process. The same is to
be presented in the form of of 6 rendered illustrations based on the surfaces developed
according to concepts chosen.
2. Develop of any one Fashion product (preferably an apparel) out of 6 designs developed.
Requirements:
 Concept / Theme boards
 Six swatches and the application of them shown in a range of 6 rendered illustrations
 One Fashion product (preferably apparel) developed out of the 6 illustrations created

Mode of presentation:

 Visual boards representing concept

 A set of 6 rendered application illustrations based on the swatches created
 Display of the product developed

Type of assignment: Jury

Assessment guidelines:

- Ideation of concept and research done – 10 marks

- Creativity and Innovation in design and surface development – 10 marks
- Finishing of the product – 10 marks
- Effort taken in developing the product – 10 marks
