Mushrooms

Experiment

• Our Question: what is the effect of motor oil

on growing mushrooms?
• Rationale: If mushrooms absorb oil well, we
can find a more efficient way to clean up oil
spills, a cheaper way to absorb them. But it
might be hard to grow mushrooms on the
road for oil spills.
Motor Oil Mushrooms
• The Motor oil grew well but not as well as the water.
• We still gave it water, but we also gave it motor oil
• I think it still grew because it absorbed the nutrience
from the motor oil to keep growing
• Aidan tried both mushrooms and, in his opinion, he
liked the water more than the Motor oil.
 Water Mushrooms

• The water grew better and we think that

happened because it takes longer time to
turn motor oil to nutrience.
 Conclusion

In conclusion the water mushrooms grew

better, but then Mr. Hollinger took all our
mushrooms and is going to eat them.
