As a professional, I take my job very seriously when it comes
to being a model for my students and colleagues. I try to use
a welcoming and enthusiastic approach in both my
classroom and in staff gatherings. An example would be the
implementation of a Professional Development training I
was leading in our week back to school. In my presentation,
I made sure to show an excitement and practicality to the
subject matter I was reviewing/sharing on Thinking Maps. I
made sure the lesson got everyone involved and of course
included “give-aways” for participation. I could see my
colleagues engaging in the activity and they gave thoughtful
reflections, without the negativity that sometimes comes
with PD. 9-1-17.

I continue to be an example for my colleagues of someone

who positively seeks & implements new ideas such as
seeking out professional development opportunities or
helping to plan school wide events. 5-5-18 and 5-1-19
