I utilize the local public
libraries constantly. I
always borrow books
from nearby libraries
for my students to
explore new topics,
genres, and authors. I
have also reached out
to local restaurants to
ask for donations to

successful and when

I lesson plan at the beginning of
the year on a zoomed-out scale,
noting holidays, themes, and
curriculum schedules. I also
plan each month with a slightly
zoomed-in scale, keeping in
mind how long lessons will
take. I plan weekly to ensure
our days are filled with learning
opportunities and chances to
reflect. Lastly, I plan daily to
make sure that what I planned
for the week, month, and for the
year is still relevant and
appropriate. These
expectations are met because I
put in the time and effort to
manage them.

I conference with colleagues on

a regular basis to ensure that
my students learning needs are
met and exceeded. My students
are neurodiverse, and all have
unique learning needs even
with their commonalities. My
students are always set up to be
successful either in the end of,
or in the process of our lessons.
They have many opportunities
to win, and I completely believe
in them. 8/5/2021

I am always committed to student learning as well as
my profession. I worked incredibly hard to obtain my
teaching credential while pregnant and working a
stressful full-time job. I waited to seek a teaching job
because teachers were not in demand at the time of
my graduation from the credential program. Because
I waited so long, I truly covet my job and the
responsibilities that go with it.

I seek out professional development and encourage

my school and colleagues to take part in opportunities
when they arise. I model respect in my professional
life and hope that influences my colleagues to do the
same.

I enjoy building up my colleagues so that they know I

believe in them and that even though the last year-
and-a-half have been the hardest of anyone’s teaching
career, they are filled with resilience, integrity, and
have a solid ethical and moral compass. I want my
colleagues to feel that, and I want my students to feel
that as well. 8/5/2021
