5. Project objectives School Education Department is the biggest department of


Punjab. It runs more than fifty thousand schools throughout
the Province having day-by-day increasing enrollment
exceeding 10-million, as result of undoubted initiatives of the
Government of the Punjab for utmost betterment of the public
sector. This exceeding enrollment direly requires a huge
number of additional classrooms to accommodate new
comers
6. Description, justification Education is a means for economic mobility and a necessity
and Technical for Pakistan, which has a large young population. The Punjab
Parameters Government aims to focus on demand side interventions to
increase the demand for education amongst the poor and
vulnerable groups. The Punjab Government envisages
enhancing existing resources of schools by increasing supply
of educational inputs.
Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School is one of the biggest
schools in District Sheikhupura with increasing strength. It is
largest school for girls in Tehsil Sharaqpur. All students of
nearby areas/ villages seek admission here due to its good
repute and results. Unfortunately, the school is facing lack of
sitting capacity due to increasing enrollment. Presently the
total strength is 3206 while the enrollment is still in
progress as the year academic year 2018-19 has started.
The institute welcomes every newcomer due to Chief
Minister’s vision “Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab”. The target
assigned to every school is to increase enrollment by 10%
every year. Currently, there are 36 classrooms while sections
from class I-X are 48. In this situation, it is impossible to
accommodate students in a ratio of 40:1. Keeping the above
in view 10 new classrooms are required to accommodate the
increasing strength of school.

remote areas. Enrollment, Retention will increase and Drop-
out rate will decrease. Children will be able to earn livelihood
for themselves and their families after getting educated. Life
standard of people of these areas will rise.
