Five Year Plan

My five year plan practically begins after graduating from High School. From the first year right
after graduating High School I plan on attending the local community college, Merced College to
study the required subjects to become a Vet Tech, I am going to need to study subjects such as
chemistry, biology, zoology, physiology, microbiology, and anatomy while trying to get my
bachelors degree. I also plan on getting my first job so that I can begin to provide for myself and
help my family out, I think getting my first job would really help me mature as a person and
would be a big first step in adulthood for me. When I get my job I also want to start saving
money to put in towards things I’m going to need in the future such as a place to stay, a new car,
have money to invest in things that I think will have more value as time goes on, and also just to
have money to spend and not have to rely on anyone else. During this process I want to try and
work with other Vets in a pet hospital as a Vet Assistant so that I can learn more and be more
hands on with the career that I want to pursue. In the free time that I get I also want to travel the
world more and leave the country for the first time and visit Europe and South America and
other places just to get in touch with more cultures and see other aspects of the world which
excites me a lot because the only other state I have been to besides California is Nevada. I also
see myself interacting with people more than I had ever done before, I want to get more involved
in doing things that I enjoy, I also want to make new friends, picking up new hobbies, I really
just want to flourish into the best person that I can be during college. I plan on doing two years at
the Merced College and then transfer into UC Santa Cruz to continue my education in the Vet
field. I believe that the first five years after High School are about growth and self-improvement
and also figuring out exactly where I want to be .
