To Whom it May Concern:

I have had the privilege of knowing Ember D’Agosta for the past three years as a student in
both my Geometry and Trigonometry/Precalculus classes. Ember is a committed student who
works hard and is an active participant in class every day. Her desire for understanding is
evident through her thoughtful questions and the way in which she works with her classmates.
Ember’s assignments are completed thoroughly and are reflective of her focus toward truly
understanding course content . Ember is polite, consistent, undaunted by challenges, an
excellent communicator, friendly, positive, respectful and well-liked by all staff and students
who have the honor of working with her.

In addition to her mathematical achievements, Ember is involved in many extracurricular sports

and activities. She has been a three-year member of both the Varsity badminton and tennis
teams and played volleyball for the high school for two years. Ember volunteers to teach swim
lessons in the Vamos a Nadar swim program in her community, was involved in helping run the
Special Olympics, and has volunteered with the Alzheimer's Association, and with Redwood Credit
Union’s homeless outreach. In addition to her volunteer work, Ember also works at the Windsor
Senior Center and still maintains the high academic standards she has set for herself.

Ember lost her home in the Tubb’s Fire in October of 2018 when she and her family narrowly
escaped their neighborhood, driving through walls of fire as they escaped down Mark West
Springs Road to safety. I mention this because of the way this event has truly showcased
Ember’s perseverance and her bravery in response to adversity. Ember has never once used
this incident as an excuse not to follow up on her responsibilities, arriving at school the day we
reopened after the fires last year. Witnessing her resilience through the aftermath of this
tragedy has been an unforgettable highlight of my teaching career.

Ember embodies the perseverance, respect and grit we strive to instill in our students at
Windsor High School. She will be a tremendous asset to any workplace, college or university
that chooses to have her as a part of their community. It is with confidence that I give her my
highest recommendation.

Sincerely,
