To Whom It May Concern,

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for April Castro. She is currently an office
assistant for me in the health office. I have gotten to know April during the past two years at school and
have watched her blossom in a hardworking, outgoing, and responsible young lady. In the health office,
April works well with the other students and requires little to no supervision. She stays on task by
cleaning, running passes, making copies, sending faxes, maintaining student confidentiality, and
restocking the supplies daily. She also uses her Spanish speaking skills to assist students and parents
since I am not bilingual. She is a true asset to our office.

April has been working about 35 hours a week at Little Cesar’s. She has worked her way up from an
entry level position to Assistant Manager. She does everything in the store from food prepping to
running the register to supervising her crew. She has acquired many basic business skills from this job
and has increased her cultural competency by working with the public.

In addition to working evenings and weekends, April manages to keep her grades up; she has a 3.0, and
is involved in service projects in her community. She has worked with the Merced Breakfast Lions Club,
volunteered at the Christmas parade, painted barns at the fairgrounds, and supervised children play at a
local park. She is active in her community and looks forward to contributing to it in the future.

April plans to attend Merced College to get her AA in Business Marketing. She then plans to transfer to
San Diego State to complete her BA in Business Administration with a minor in International Business.
She would like to open her own fashion boutique with clothing, shoes, and purses from domestic and
foreign designers.

I have no hesitation about referring April for either any job she pursues or any scholarship she applies
for. She is an exceptional young lady with unlimited potential. If you have any questions regarding the
information I have shared with you about April, please contact me at (209)325-1054.

Thank you for your time,

Betsy Bell, Merced High School Health Aid
