LEAVE RULES :

Casual Leave :

 12 days - Maximum 5 days can be availed.


 Balance of C.L unutilised will lapse on 31st December.
 Any leave will not affect the calculation of the Casual Leave Credit.

Sick Leave :

 30 days - Half-Pay - Credited only on 01st January. MC / FC is required.


 Ordinarily, S.L is not granted for Half-a-day.
 For S.L, only completed years are taken into consideration for credit.
 Any leave excluding LOP will not affect S.L calculation.
 The Competent Authority may secure a second medical opinion.
Earned Leave :

 One day for every eleven days worked.


 Minimum 7 days – Maximum 120 days may be availed.
 15 days prior notice required.
 Accumulations upto 240 days.
 For less than 7 days will be allowed on 2 occasions. From 3 rd occasion, only Chief
Manager and above can approve.
 If sufficient C.L is not available, P.L for shorter duration can be granted on the
above lines.
 For E.L, duty shall mean period spent in the service of the Company, but shall not
include period other than C.L, Q.L, EXL & Trade Union Leave.
 Ordinarily, E.L is not granted for half-a-day.

MATERNITY LEAVE TO FEMALE EMPLOYEE :

 Not exceeding 12 months including Miscarriage / Medical Termination of


Pregnancy during the entire period of service.
RESTRICTED HOLIDAY [ R.H ] :

2 days in a calendar year - Declared Restricted / Optional Religious Holidays by the


Central Government and respective State Government.

PROBATIONERS :

 C.L on accrual basis - 1 day for every 30 days

 S.L credited at the end of calendar year - 1 day Half-Pay for 12 days from the date
of joining.

 E.L - 1 day for every 11 days

 During the probation period, using discretion to sanction the leave.

LOSS OF PAY :

 Granted when no other leave is due and admissible.

 3 months on any one occasion and 6 months in the entire service.

 Beyond 180 days - to be approved by CMD.

 Increment will get postponed.

 No provision of LOP to Part-time employees and any absence without leave balance
is treated as unauthorised.

SPECIAL SICK LEAVE - 9 MAJOR DISEASES :

 Cancer - On half-pay basis for a period not exceeding 6 months.


 Leprosy
 Tuberculosis
 Poliomyletis
 Brain Tumour
 Cardiac Ailment
 Kidney Disease
 Mental Disease
 AIDS

LEAVE RULES - GENERAL :

 Only following conjunctions of leave is permitted :-

 [a] C.L + + Exam Leave + Quarantine Leave + Restricted Holiday (R.H) + LOP

 [b] E.L + S.L + M.L + EXL + Q.L + R.H + LOP


 [c] S.L + E.L + M.L + Q.L + R.H + LOP

 [d] M.L + E.L + S.L + Q.L + R.H + LOP

 [e] EXL + C.L + R.H + LOP (OR) EXL + E.L + M.L + Q.L + R.H + LOP

 [f] Q.L + C.L + EXL + R.H + LOP (OR) Q.L + E.L + S.L + M.L + EXL + R.H +
LOP

 [g] LOP with any other type of leave

 Before proceeding on leave, the employee shall intimate the address, where he is
available.

 Employee should obtain permission before leaving Headquarters.

 Overstaying beyond approved leave shall be treated as on LOP.

 Employee shall not resume duty before availing granted leave fully.

SANCTION OF LEAVE FOR GOING ABROAD :


1. Maximum of 90 days

 To return to duty immediately after expiry of sanctioned leave

 In case of medical treatment for the employee or treatment of a close relative beyond
90 days, prior approval of G.M (Personnel) should be obtained for extension of
leave subject to limits.

 Not reporting for duty on expiry of sanctioned leave, entire period of sanctioned
leave will be treated as unauthorised and to repay the leave salary drawn.

 No S.L will be granted to an employee unless it is a case of hospitalisation supported


by the documents.

 No leave other than E.L / S.L will be granted for going abroad / while being abroad.

 No Officer / employee shall accept gainful employment whilst being abroad on


leave / unauthorised absence.

 The above instructions will not apply to grant of study leave, which is governed by
separate conditions.
 Whenever leave is granted to any employee to visit abroad in terms of the above
guidelines, necessary information may be furnished to Head Office.
