spending a long time in school will
help them to improve their scores and
their understanding. However, Diana
Hincapie (2016) stated that her
research does not support this idea.
Long school day also has many
disadvantages. I think that the school
day should be shorter at MUIDS
because it is a cause of exhaustion and
it does not help learners to get good
grade.

The MUIDS Book Fair, organized by
Ms. Uraiwan Phohpaen, is going to invite
famous textbook publishers and book shops
to sell books on April 22 - 23, 2019 at the
MUIDS library. Students can go to join
MUIDS Book Fair in some of the class
periods or during the break and after school.
This event is aimed to make students give
more interest in reading books. Since there
are lots of textbook publishers, teachers of
MUIDS can find more books to teach
students in the next year. It is easier for the
librarians to find out which books most of the
MUIDS’ students like to read by looking at
the number of people in each booth instead
of the survey. Books publisher and book
shops will start to open their booth in the
morning until 4 p.m.

ability to fully concentrate or focus on
something in a day for only four to five
hours. The school hours each day at
MUIDS is seven and a half hours. This
is shown that students are spending
time each day learning more than how
much their brain can handle. It may
affect students on their learning. They
may not understand clearly about the
lessons at school, which will also
cause learners to end up having bad

his detention on Monday April 1st and
Wednesday April 3rd and on Friday April
5th, he got sent to Mr. Simon. He received
detention from Ms. Charlie on April 1 for
throwing his phone during class. He did not
go to his detention on the evening because he
had a tutor class after school. Ms. Charlie
then called him to do his detention on
Wednesday. He decided not to go again
because he also had tutoring class school. On
Friday, he finally went to do his detention
during lunch and later he was sent to Mr.
Simon on biology class for for skipping

The school day in Finland starts
between eight to nine o’clock and
finishes between one to two o’clock in
the afternoon. The quality of students
in Finland is also very high. Students
are successful by learning only four to

Berserker Won House ROV
eSport Tournament

Bhu Koosongdham(Bhu) the team
captain and his teammates of Berserker, won
the house eSport ROV tournament on March
25-28 2019. The competition was among all
of the houses to have a chance to win 1,000
points for their house. They won against the
Olympian in the first round. Then, Berserker
got to play against the winner of the other
group which is Titan. They beat Titan.

house Overwatch eSport match, which was
held on March 23-30, 2019. The venues were
not specific but the players could play
wherever they were. Berserker won due to
the gaming skills of each player, but not the
chemistry among the team. In the first round
of the tournament, Berserker destroyed
Olympian with two points and proceeded to
the final match against Phoenix. (continued

am one of the people who can be successful

He had a dream to have lots of money and

grandparents for studying high school in
town. He had to carry rice sack on public
transportation to school to eat while he
stayed at the pigsty. My dad had to work in
the garden of the hotel to get some money to
study. When he finished high school, he got
a scholarship for an excellent student for the
university. His parents were opposed to his
idea again. It is quite a sad moment when he
studying with his best abilities but he could
not get that chance. My dad decided to give
the application without telling anyone.

“School Should not have GIFTED claSS”
The main school in Thailand
that we can see in every province is
Thai Government school which was
supported by the government. Thai
government schools have around
ten classrooms per Grade. The first
class is the GIFTED room which
combines all students who got the
highest score together. I think there
should not be any GIFTED class
because it causes GIFTED students
to be non-sociable and it is not fair
for other students when GIFTED
students have more chance to go to
better university.

 TCAS by Nat

Is TCAS the solution to improve Thailand’s educational

system? Thailand University Central Admission System of TCAS is
the newly introduced admission system in 2018. It is said to help
improve the system; however, under TCAS, the rate of students that
didn’t get to universities that they wanted increase significantly.

The purpose of TCAS is to lower the advantage gap between the rich and the poor, and so that the
students will attend the school’s classes the entire year instead of go to attend the university exam on
school days. With information provided by Tharanya, TCAS is divided up in five rounds. First round is
portfolio. Second is quota for residential area. Third is direct admission by TCAS including COTMS
(Constitutional of Thai Medical School). Fourth is admission. Fifth is free direct admission. According to
Ploy Thammapiranon, she explained that there are some flaws
and the problems that it claimed to solve didn’t get solved at all.
During the third round, students will be able to select four
faculties that they wanted to join and the students will then take
the test to see if they get accepted or not. The problem here is that
there are a lot of smart students and they clog up all the spots for
other faculties and they can only choose one. This leaves a lot of
spots for the university empty and the one who get a lower score
didn’t get bump up so they can enter. This means that a lot of
students didn’t get the university they wanted and a lot of university have less entering than they should.

solved. Under TCAS, the fee for registration for each round

Toscana Valley is located in Bang Na. Around the valley, I

could see nothing but trees. The area was unpopulated and quiet.
However, the inside look of the valley is more beautiful than I’ve
expected. The resort is very big and each room is located
separately throughout the valley. My favorite place in the valley
is a grass field at the back of the resort. In the evening, I spent my
time there playing football with my family and the other two
customers. As I mentioned that this place is unpopulated, which
makes this place quiet and peaceful, I could hear the bird’s noise
and I could feel a light breeze of the wind grazed my face, which
is a very good condition of the environment to rest and clear my
mind. There are also many restaurants in the resort with
different types of food and drinks. There are a giant

that the wheel was slowly spinning. I assumed that if it
didn’t stop, a piece of the spoke would crush my leg. I
used my hands and my left leg to crawl around my bike
in the same direction as the wheel. After five minutes,
