Home Activity:
This week in class we will be focusing on water and all of the responses from your child that water produces. The children will have multiple
opportunities to explore water. Some of these activities include: bathing babies in the dramatic play area, where they will have the opportunity to
use their fine motor skills; reading books about water in the flop and drop area, where they will be exposed to many shapes, and letters; and
washing cars outside where they will have the opportunity to participate in pretend play. Teachers will emphasize the importance of water and the
many ways that we are able to use water.
At home, you can help your toddler see the ways that you use water in your own home. You can talk about using water when we take
baths, when we wash our dishes, or when we are thirsty. Sent home with you is a bath toy that your toddler will be able to play with in the water as
they are taking a bath. They can squeeze the toy which will strengthen their palmer grasp.

Safety Instructions: Please supervise your child as they play with the toy in the bathtub.
