We provide them at San Lorenzo Ruiz Student Catholic Center with board and lodging; this
includes
COMMUNITY LIFE
Each resident is provided with a bed, mattress and pillow, a study desk with lamp, a chair and a
closet.
Any other needs should be provided by the resident himself/herself. See below List of things to
bring.
Each resident is in charge of the cleanliness of his/her room and sleeping area.
There is a study area where residents can work in silence. It is a shared place. NO FOOD and
DRINKS allowed.
Studying is a good exercise for the brain but physical exercises are as important as intellectual
exercises for any student to maintain a balanced life.
To relax, the residents have access to a TV room and a sports’ room where they can play table
tennis. The compound is big enough for those who like to jog.
• MEALS
If a resident cannot take his/her meal during the schedule of meals at the dining hall, they can have
their lunch packed for take-out (for example: if they need to stay at the Review Center the whole
day) or dinner packed and reserved to eat later (for example if class or review finishes after meal
time).
We do not provide food on Sundays and on holiday but the dining hall is open. EATING IS
NOT ALLOWED IN THE UPPER FLOORS.
• INTERNET
There’s a hotspot in the compound for those who would need access to internet. It’s ₱20 for 6h
connection.
SPIRITUAL LIFE
During their stay, residents boarders are encouraged to join the prayer life of the Community:
Morning Prayer 7.00 am
Adoration of the Blessed Holy Sacrament 12.00 pm
Daily Mass 6.30 pm
Restored by love
live the Sacrament of reconciliation
once a month
There is a monthly meeting mandatory for all residents. Resident may choose from several
activities proposed by the Community according to his/her schedule.
Week-ends of recollection will also be proposed during the year as well as a one week- retreat.
SOME RULES
The center proposes a “flat” monthly contribution. It means that there are no additional charges.
However each resident should have an additional budget of ₱450 to ₱700 per month for his/her
laundry because it is not allowed in the house.
A room is considered reserved upon receiving the reservation fee of ₱100 for every month
reserved.
Example:
If the reservation is made in April for an arrival in May (up to 2nd week), that would be 100
pesos.
If the arrival is in the 3rd or 4th week of May, the reservation fee would ₱200.
If the arrival date is in June, the reservation fee would be ₱300. And so on.
The reservation holds up to 2 weeks after expected date of arrival. If the administration is not
informed of any change of date of arrival, the reservation will be cancelled.
If the date of arrival is earlier than expected, please inform at least 1 week ahead of time for us
to prepare your room.
Reservation fee can be sent through LBC, Palawan Express or door to door delivery.
If through bank deposit, please contact us for the bank account. After the deposit, please email a
copy of the deposit slip with the full name of the resident on it.
CHECK-IN
* The month you check in, the contribution is on pro rata i.e. your monthly contribution is divided
by 30 and multiplied by the number of days of stay.
Example:
Date of check in: April 4
Type of room: Non aircon Cubicle Single
Contribution for April: 7800 / 30 = 260 pesos
April 4 – April 30 = 27 days
260 x 27 = 7020 pesos.
** In case of pre-termination of contract, the Center reserves the right to retain the deposit.

Who is the Chemin Neuf Community?
The Chemin Neuf Community is an international Catholic community with an ecumenical vocation
that grew out of a prayer group. It is composed of men and women: religious priests, consecrated
sisters and brothers, lay (single or married), who have chosen the adventure of community life to
follow Christ poor and humble, in order to serve the Church and the world.
We are of Ignatian spiritualty and take its roots also in the Charismatic Renewal.
At the invitation of Cardinal Rosales, then Archbishop of Manila, and Cardinal Tagle, current
Archbishop of Manila, the Chemin Neuf arrived in Manila in 2013. San Lorenzo Ruiz Student
Catholic Center is our mother house in the Philippines.
We conduct retreats for young people and couples according to the Spiritual Exercises of St
Ignatius of Loyola and also the week long retreat.
