1. Draw the VI characteristics of SCR and find out the value of latching current and holding
current for various gate currents. Explain the various turn ON methods used for SCR.

2. Draw the VI characteristics of four layer, three terminal, uni directional controlled
device and measure the latching current and holding current. Explain various turn OFF
methods used.

3. Draw the VI characteristics of TRIAC by conducting suitable experiment. Explain the


operation of TRIAC with neat explanation.

4. Draw the VI characteristics of four layer, three terminal, bi directional controlled device by
conducting suitable experiment. Explain the operation of that device with neat explanation.
5. (i) Draw the VI characteristics of MOSFET for various gate – source voltages. (50)
(ii) Draw the VI characteristics of IGBT for various gate – source voltages . (50)

6. Draw the VI characteristics of power MOSFET for various gate source voltages. Explain
the operation of MOSFET with neat diagram and also explain its various characteristics.

7. Explain the transient characteristics of MOSFET with neat diagram. Compare the
operation of MOSFET with BJT.

8. Explain the transient characteristics of BJT with neat diagram. Compare the operation of
BJT with MOSFET.

9. Measure and draw the DC output voltage by varying the firing angle of single phase AC
–DC half controlled converter by conducting suitable experiment for Resistive load. Also,
tabulate the differences between half controlled converter and fully controlled converter.

10. Conduct suitable experiment on single phase AC-DC half controlled converter to measure
and draw the DC output voltage by varying the firing angle for Resistive load. Derive the
relationship between the output voltage and firing angle.
11. Measure and draw the DC output voltage by varying the firing angle of single phase AC
–DC half controlled converter by conducting suitable experiment for Resistive load. Also,
tabulate the differences between half controlled converter and fully controlled converter.

12. Conduct suitable experiment on single phase AC-DC half controlled converter to measure
and draw the DC output voltage by varying the firing angle for Resistive load. Derive the
relationship between the output voltage and firing angle.

13. Measure the output DC voltage by varying the duty cycle in step up and step down
MOSFET based chopper by conducting suitable experiment. Explain how the duty cycle
and output voltages are related in step down chopper.

14. Conducting suitable experiment to measure the output DC voltage by varying the duty
cycle in step up and step down MOSFET based chopper. Explain how the duty cycle and
output voltages are related in step up chopper.

15. Draw the voltage vs time characteristics for a IGBT based single phase PWM inverter by
conducting suitable experiment. Explain the operation in detail.
16. Conduct suitable experiment on IGBT based single phase PWM inverter to draw the
voltage vs time characteristics. Explain the various steps involved during its operation.

17. Draw the voltage vs time characteristics for a IGBT based three phase PWM inverter by
conducting suitable experiment. Explain the operation in detail.

19. Draw the circuit diagram for resonant DC-DC converter. Explain the procedure to conduct

20. Conduct suitable experiment to measure the output voltage and resonant frequency using
DC-DC resonant converter. Draw the output waveform and analysis the output
waveform.
