Title: A Fight inthe Canteen
Date: 3 May 20_

It was 10.50 a.m. It was recess time and there were

many students in the canteen. The whole place was busy The Manager,
and noisy. Some students were busy queueing for food.
Those who bought food sat in groups and some have
started eating. It was during this time that Iwas walking pass
the canteen when I heard some students yelling at each
other. I was curious and went to check out to see what was
happening.

Two students were hurling insults at each other. The

two boys were Mohd Amirul and Samsul Bahri from Form 4
Science 2. They were quarreling with each other over who
reached the table first and who should sit there. Then they
started punching and kicking each other. This is followed by
a brutalfist fight between them. There was spilt food on the
ground.

Three boys who were watching by the side did not

attempt to stop the fight. In a few minutes, there was blood
coming out from one of the boys' nose. When seeing this,
some friends of Amirul and Samsul became angry and also
joined the fight.

I tried to stop them. Some of their friends were also

trying to stop the fight. Unfortunately, the students carried on
with their assault on each other. Some girls became scared
and started screaming. The atmosphere in the canteen
became messy and chaotic.

As things were getting out of hand, I ran down the

corridor quickly to inform the Discipline Teacher. The
Discipline Teacher, Mr Siva, quickly went to the canteen with
a few other teachers. They managed to stop the fight. All the
students who were involved in the incident were taken to the
principal's office.

One of the boys involved in the fight , Amirul, was

bleeding from the nose. Mr Siva took him to the clinic in
his car for treatment. Those who joined the fight were
reprimanded. They were warned to never fight in school
again.
