PROBLEM STATEMENT
Ninh Giang is an under-deveoped and far-flung district of Hai Duong, a northern province in Vietnam. Due to the long distance to the urban city, local people
face huge difficulties in accessing quality education, especially English education and personal development trainings. Apart from academic classes at school,
students do NOT have any single opportunity to take part in extra-curricular activities or capacity building programs. Therefore, people’s awareness of career
development and economic growth is severely limited. Industrial, trading and service sectors are not common in town. People have a tendency to follow their
ancestors’ steps to work in agricutural sector or as factoriy workers, resulting in relatively low living standards, which then prevent them from approaching
quality education. It is extremely hard to break out from this poverty cycle.

I am 21, born in a small village in Ninh Giang, but I have been spending nearly half of my life living far from home, away from my family, for what? For better
education! (Sometimes I wonder whether it is the reason why the relationships with my family members are that troubled and stormy.) There is a large gap
in terms of development opportunities among youth in the city and rural areas. And we are greatly suffering from it.

Thinking systematically, not only does it lead to a lack of quality education, but also prevent the local economy from growing and have negative effects on
migration and family cohesion. Better education now seems to be the only feasible measure to address the unsolved problem. eTOWN, the very first
private institute in the region, was founded.
