You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para
las descripciones. La primera ha sido hecha como ejemplo.

New York is a big city in the


United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is

located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
Saint Peter’s Square is an
open space located in
Vaticane City in Rome, Italy.
The city has a population of
around 3 milion people. Due to
the state of being the city
where the pope lives. The
square has a big obelisk in the
center of it. You can visit the
Cathedral of San Lorenzo in
Miranda and the famous
fountains where a lof of
people throw coins in
exchange of a wish.
Rome (Italy) – Saint Peter’s Square In the picture you can see part
of the square, there are a lot of
colonnades. The square was
built in 1667.
Sydney is the populated city
in Australia and Oceania, it
has around of 5 million
people. The city is the capital
of New South Wales. You can
visit the harbour of the city
where there are a lot of boats,
there are a lot of buildings, the
city is so big it extend 70
kilometers on his periphery
towards the blue mountains to
the west. The city has a big
bridge and traditional
Sydney (Australia) – The Sydney Opera buildings, like The Sydney
House Opera, as you can see in the
picture, it was built in 1973. In
the place are perfomed opera
and ballet acts.
Edinburgh is the capital city of
Scotland, it has around half a
milion of people. You can visit
the Scottish Parliament and
the Palace of Holyroodhouse,
you can also enjoy visiting
The Edinburgh Castle, like in
the picture on the left, in early
times, there was an artificial
lake near the Castle. It was
built around the twlve century.

Dubai is the mos populated
city of the United Arab
Emirates. Dubai is a global
city and business hub of
Middle East. The city has
around of 9 million people. Yo
can visit the Worl Islands, The
Al Fahidi Fort. As you can see
in the picture, The Burj Khalifa
was built between 2004 and
2010 with 828 of height. The
building is located in Dubai.
