Section 3.0 - Handswitch Replacement Procedure

1.) Power down the system. Flip main breaker to the OFF position. Verify that the system is
unplugged (not charging). Follow standard LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures.
2.) Use 7/64" allen wrench to remove the cast collar (around tube park latch). See Figure 2.

3.) Raise the top cover of the AMX unit.

Make sure the support brackets for the top cover lock into place.

4.) Remove the current handswitch holder assembly by removing the (2) cap screws from the
backside of the top cover.
5.) Drill new mounting holes as follows:

Note: If the top cover already has four mounting holes, proceed to Step 6.

a.) Place the drill template in the existing holes in the top cover as shown. See Figure 3.

b.) Drill two holes using the #20 drill bit. See Figure 4.

c.) Remove the template.

6.) Confirm the fit of the aluminum spacer (p/n 5212885). It should be a snug/tight fit into the top
cover. See Figure 5.

7.) Re-assemble the handswitch holder and cover (Figure 6 and Figure 7) and tighten the screws
(spare screws are provided in kit). Ensure that the handswitch assembly is tight.

8.) Close the top cover and re-install the cast collar.
