THE ADVANTAGES OF ATTENDING TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

Teacher is one of the most important school based factors in determining the learning
outcomes. That’s why, Indonesian goverment, lately, concerned to improve teacher’s quality
by organizing teacher training program. This program presented for teachers who are
deserved to take the program by passing the Pree-Test. Attending this program, teachers got
some advantages,such as gaining vital skills not learned while taking college courses ,
increasing teacher ability in applying various approach in teaching learning process,
encourage teachers to make good pedagogical practice and enhancing professional
knowledge.
In Teacher training program, teachers gained vital skills not learned while taking
college courses. They found some update knowledge and stay current with new knowledge.
Professional development help teachers keeping their skill sets fresh.
Besides, by joining this program, teachers were tough to increase their ability in
applying various approach in teaching learning process . They were given the effective
strategies to open a lesson, effective questioning technigues, and effective technigue for
giving learner feedback on performance.
In addition, through The teacher training program, teachers were encouraged to make
good pedagogical practice and enhancing their professional knowledge. The instructor helped
the techers in designing courses, establishing goals and learning outcomes in lesson,
developing competence and mastery of knowledge in subject matter areas, learning the
different methods than can be used in teaching learning process.
For all its advantages, it can be concluded that teacher training program took a big role
to help teachers to teach in more efficient and various ways. All of the aspects are aimed to
result in better students grades and higher level students interest.
