MUSE Downtime Process:

 When the MUSE system is down and the tech performs an ECG, the cart will search for
the network. When it can’t connect to the network, it will ask the tech if they want to
RETRY or CANCEL- always hit CANCEL and the cart will automatically save the ECG to
file manager.
 Do not delete any ECGs from the file manager during downtime
 Place a paper copy of the preliminary ECG on the patients chart for physician review
 Emergent ECGs must be faxed to the cardiologist on call for interpretation
 Continue to enter an order in Epic for each ECG performed
 When MUSE is back up after the upgrade, the ECGs stored on the carts will be
manually sent to the server for editing and physician interpretation
 Once interpreted, the ECGs will be linked to the patients record in Epic
