Leo and Rod have been best friends since kindergarten. Everyone in the village knew
they were inseparable. After graduating from school, the two boys decided to go to the city to
find a job.

For many days, they walked through the hot desert. They had to survive on little water
and food. One day, Leo and Rod got into an argument. In the heat of the moment, Leo
slapped Rod. Rod quietly took a stick and wrote on the sand: “MY FRIEND SLAPPED ME
TODAY’’. Both of them continued the journey in silence.

The next day, they discovered an oasis. They were very happy to find so much of water.
Rod took the chance to take a nice bath. Suddenly, he got a cramp and started sinking. Leo
quickly jumped in to save Rod. After thanking his friends, Rod used a small stone and wrote
on a rock: “MY FRIEND SAVED ME TODAY’’.

Leo asked: “When I hurt you, you wrote in the sand. Today, you wrote on a rock.
Why?’’ Rod replied: “When bad things happen, I write it on the sand so that it will be
forgotten and erased when the winds blew. When good things happen, I wrote it on a rock so
that it will never be forgotten or erased.’’
