Cannabis (/ˈkænəbɪs/) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Cannabaceae.

Three species may be recognized: Cannabis sativa,

Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis;
Leaves from the cannabis plant are bright green and have a distinctive shape with five or seven leaflets. The flowering tops and upper
leaves are covered in a sticky resin.

Cannabis is a drug that comes from Indian hemp plants such as Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. The main active chemical in
cannabis is THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol). Cannabis is a depressant drug.

Cannabis is also known as grass, pot, hash, weed, reefer, dope, herb, mull, buddha, ganja, joint, stick, buckets, cones, skunk, hydro,
yarndi, smoke and hooch.

There are three main forms of psychoactive cannabis: marijuana, hashish and hash oil.

Marijuana is the most common and least potent form of cannabis. Marijuana is the dried leaves and flowers of the plant.

Hashish (“hash”) is dried cannabis resin, usually in the form of a small block. The concentration of THC in hashish is higher than in
marijuana, producing stronger effects.

Hash oil is a thick, oily liquid, golden brown to black in colour, which is extracted from cannabis. Hash oil is the strongest form of cannabis.

The different forms of cannabis are used in different ways:

 Marijuana is smoked in hand-rolled cigarettes (joints), or in a pipe (a bong).

 Hashish is usually added to tobacco and smoked, or baked and eaten in foods such as hash cookies.

Hash oil is usually spread on the tip or paper of a cigarette and then smoked.

Cannabis sativa L. shares its origins with the inception of the first agricultural human societies in Asia. Over the course of time different
parts of the plant have been utilized for therapeutic and recreational purposes, for instance, extraction of healing oils from seed, or the
use of inflorescences for their psychoactive effects.

it seems that in Palaeolithic (age) sites, a variety of techniques was used that enabled the production of sophisticated plaited basket
(hamper) based on C. sativa.

in Taiwan suggest that C. sativa was used 12,000 years ago for several different purposes (Li, 1974) and played a significant role in early
cordage and textile manufacturing.

The medical use of C. sativa dates back about 5000 years ago, C. sativa was prescribed for fatigue, rheumatism, and malaria in China,
as the first Chinese pharmacopeia. Also it was well known among the ancient Greeks and Romans, describing the plants for their useful
benefits against pains.

how a group of shamans from Iquitos in Peru They used a drink during shamanic rites, capable of generating psychedelic effects. These
plants were considered "teachers" because the shamans could heal the disease of their village employing them, often fasting and
accompanied by particular melodies.

India, Tibet, Hinduism and Buddhism traditions used flowes to facilitate the meditation and commnunication with the spirits.

According to some authors, the word Cannabis was present in Semitic languages like Hebrew, and it appears several times throughout
the Old Testament. In fact, in some passages of Exodus, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, the use of C. sativa as incense and sacred oil is
cited.

Clarke and Merlin argued that the discovery of C. sativa psychoactivity may be considered as an unintentional event. burning of C. sativa
plants, triggered by natural events, has revealed its psychotropic nature.

In addition, in the English medicine of the nineteenth century, C. sativa was introduced as
an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-emetic and anti-convulsant. Because of the other sensations as hallucinations and psychotic effects
in people, it was strongly prohibited in
the twentieth century due to its remarkable psychoactive effects and was removed from the British Pharmacopoeia in 1932 and included
as a banned substance for therapeutic use.

Conversely, C. sativa was not known in the Americas until the arrival and settlement of the
first European colonists. Indeed, the Spanish and English colonies in the Americas mainly imported the botanical varieties ideal for textile
manufacturing.

Despite these restrictions, the use of C. sativa as a local and traditional medicine by shamans and healers, an intense pharmacological
research on its chemical components, and several socio-cultural debates on it continued.

While some components of brain function recover completely with the passage of time after an individual stops marijuana use, research
has shown that there are other areas in which problems persist. Some of the affected brain processes include decision-making,
concept/idea formation and planning. These effects are most likely to occur in people who began regular marijuana use as adolescents
and engaged in heavy use for a very long time.13 Daily or persistent use of marijuana at intoxicating doses can lead to chronic problems
