General Instructions:
i. The question paper comprises of three Sections A, B and C. You are to attempt all the
sections.
ii. All questions are compulsory.
iii. There is no choice in any of the questions.
iv. All questions of Section A, Section B are to be attempted separately.
v. Question numbers 1 to 2 in Section A are one mark questions. These are to be answered
in one word or in one sentence.
vi. Question numbers 3 and 5 in Section A are two marks questions. These are to be
answered in about 30 words each.
vii. Question numbers 6 to 15 in Section A are three marks questions. These are to be
answered in about 50 words each.
viii. Question numbers 16 to 21 in Section A are fve marks questions. These are to be
answered in about 70 words each.
ix. Question numbers 22 to 27 in Section B are two marks questions based on practical skills.
These are to be answers in about 30 words each.

measuring cylinder, write down four steps of the procedure.
24. State any two specific features of Earth worm.
25. Draw a diagram of graduated cylinder of range of 0-100 mL.
26. A mixture of sand, chalk powder and common salt is dissolved in water and then filtered.
Name the substance left on filter paper. Name the substance in the filter.
27. In an experiment to determine the boiling point of water, state reason for the following:
i. Pumice stone pieces are added to water in the beaken.
ii. A glass stirrer is used.
