CIT 601Dr.

Randall Boone
Reflective paper by Sherwin Razmy
Greetings teachers, parents and students. In our Technology class,
Dr. Boone taught us how to: go through a technology journey,
research reviews of technology devices such as CNET, an
infographic, multi-media universal design for learning, research
assignments, digital photography, spreadsheet basics using google
docs spreadsheet, coding and create a professional website with
multiple pages.
Reflecting, I wish I had the opportunity to take CIT 601 in the first
semester. It would have made the transition much smoother. Dr.
Randall Boone is a wonderful and caring professor and a great
mentor. He taught us to go beyond the basics in technology, such
as uploading a You-Tube video or creating a Power Point
document.
When teachers create a Power Point document, they might think
that they are a technology wizard however, the reality is they are
just utilizing blackboard. We learned how to create a cartoon
character using Voki to teach kids lessons. Teachers can be
creative, and I created a Spanish speaking dog. I did not know how
to do any of these wonderful tasks before this class.
Now my next goal is to improve on what I learned and discover
new technological applications, programs and software, which wll
make the job of both the educator and the student much easier.
With technology, educators and schools can provide the necessary
tools for students with a learning disability or a disability such as
autism. There are programs such as kruzwell, which will read the
text of online articles or any E-book.
It is up to the student now to succeed because all the tools and
advantages are provided for them. It is the job of the educator to
teach students how to use technology to their advantage.
