Computer Architecture (Lab) Project Requirements.

1. Create an electronic circuit based on the theme that was provided. The design should contain
an Arduino board and at least one sensor which either measures or reacts to something in the
physical world. Other than this, there are no component restrictions in place.
2. The project should be complete with a detailed overview of its purpose and the build process,
please include any coding used, design files and list of components.
3. Include a video of the design in operation.

Project Document Format

 Paper size: 8.5” x 13”
 Margins: 1” on all sides
 Spacing: 1.5 lines
 Font: Times New Roman size 12, Regular for normal text and Bold for section headings
 Pagination: centered at the bottom of the page

The final project documentation must include the following:

 Overview - It should convey what the whole project is all about, discussion of the
challenge the project addresses, as well as how the project will alleviate or solve the
problem that the project addresses.
 Process - A diagram (flowchart, etc.) illustrating how the project might be used including
a detailed explanation.
 Components - Detail of hardware components as well as apps used. Include working
code with helpful comments.
 Schematic – A diagram detailing the electronic circuit with an explanation of how the
circuit works.
 Include other diagrams and tables as necessary.
 Include proper citations and a reference page in APA format as necessary.
Video Specifications:
 The video should provide a comprehensive and logically organized presentation of how
the circuit was created as well as the design in action.
 Include a 15-second introductory slide of the title and the names of the group members.
 No background music.
 No simulated voices.
 Minimize moving text or graphics.
 Delivery should be audible and clear.
 Format: mp4, 720p
Technical Presentation:
 Provide an overview of the prototype functionality including a technical explanation of
the mechanical operations, software operations, and integration of the two. Students will
prepare a short presentation and demonstration of the functionality of the circuit.
 Maximum of 15 minutes per presentation.

Project document and video is due on July 11. Project presentation will be conducted on July 12
and 13.
