My name is Monica De La Hoz Rocha, I am 43 years old. I live in Barranquilla, I am married
and I work in an insurance company, I am the executive of insurance. I am studying psychology
in the UNAD. I like to read, to eat out with my husband in a restaurant. I don´t like to wake up
very early in the mornings.

My name is Marcos Jose Tinoco Gutierrez, I am 23 years old. I am from Cartagena, but I live in
Barranquilla. I am single and live with my parents and my sister. I am a mechanic; I work in
CHM Mineria and study industrial engineering. I like to share time with my family and friends,
travel and learn new things and I don't like to judge to people without first know them.

Unit 1.1: Week 1.


Write 8 sentences telling us about your family
1) In my family we are 4 members, my father, my mother, my brother and me.
2) My father and my mother like to watch tennis matches, however my brother and I don´t like
it.
3) My father works in a big Company as a supervisor.
4) My mother is a house keeper, and my bother studies 2do grade.
5) I work and study at UNAD.
6) I am older than my brother.

Unit 1.2: Week 2.


My daily activities
I will let you know about my daily activities. From Monday to Friday, I wake up very early in
the morning, at 6am. I get up and I brush my teeth. Then I have breakfast, I like to take a black
cup of coffee with my breakfast. I read the news headlines on my Smartphone. I take a shower,
and get dressed to go to the bus stop. I wait for the bus to go to work. I work from 10am to 5pm.
And I have lunch from 1pm to 2pm. In the afternoon, sometimes I go around for a walk in the
park near my house. Sometimes I meet there with our old friend Erika. After the park, I go back
to home and I have dinner. Then I watch TV and talk to my family about our day. On weekends I
usually get up late, around 10am. Then I have breakfast, and I watch TV till noon. I help my
family to prepare lunch. We eat lunch together, around 2pm or 3pm. In the afternoon, sometimes
we go out around the city, and visit some friends. At night we watch TV.

LAURA: Hello friend. What are you doing?
CARLA: Hello, Laura. I'm reading a book that I bought yesterday.
LAURA: What's the name of the book?
CARLA: the fault is of the cow of Martha Bernal

In my room there is a sofa, in front there is a table, on the table is the vase inside the vase, there

IV. PHASE IV: write a letter to your mother describing what your life is like after two
months of moving with your husband/wife/partner to a different country. After having
decided about the city, the pictures and the actions, the group will start writing the

Hi mom.

How are you? I am very well here in New York. After two months of moving to USA with my
husband I start to speak English more fluently. My husband Erik found a good job here; he is a
software developer in a big company. In this letter I will tell you about New York, my house,
and our routine here.
New York is a unique city. A vibrant city, in constant movement, full of life, with many
beautiful places to visit, such as Central Park, which is a place full of lakes, viewpoints, statues
and gardens. New York is the largest city in the United States and there are many inhabitants.
The climate of New York is very cold in winter and very warm in summer.
My house is cozy. I don’t have great luxuries but it is comfortable. In my house there are three
bedrooms, there are two bathrooms, there is a small kitchen and there is a beautiful living room.
Here there is a car to go where you want when you come. There is a supermarket on the corner
of my house, there is a church in front of my house and near here there is a museum behind the
supermarket.
About my daily routine, every day I go to the school. I work as a teacher. I really enjoy my job.
After that, I go to the park with my dog and do exercises. Then, I eat a snack with my husband.
He is always working in the company, but during the nights, he is at home. Every Saturday, we
go to the church and on Sundays we go to different restaurants. On vacations, we love to travel,
for that, we hope to visit you.
