worked at JSW Steel Ltd in India as a junior manager in charge of the Water Circulation Systems.
He choose the program because he likes the mix of engineering and management courses.
He also hopes to improve his communication skills to for example express himself better.

design of defense products, including the manufacturing of housing prototypes for the electro-

Bahar already worked on several research projects in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M
University. During his last project he led the mechanical engineering team responsible for
designing a gas processing facility for Fluor, the largest construction company listed in Fortune
500. Leading this team sparked his interest in management.

Sharath Vishwanath

Visvesvarayya Technological University (VTU) - Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering

Sharath has worked as a Bosch Production Systems (BPS) coordinator at Bosch India Ltd.
His responsibility was to implement BPS concepts of Lean Manufacturing in the shop floor of
Common Rail Injector (CRI) Manufacturing. Furthermore he has worked as a volunteer in “Neralu”,
a crowd-funded, volunteer-driven event, which organizes the “Bengaluru Tree Festival” in India to
preserve trees and to spread awareness for the environment. For Sharath the MME program offers
the perfect combination of technical and managerial subjects which will provide him with the
capabilities and skills needed to handle challenging task with confidence.

mostly manufactures hydraulic systems and dewatering pumps. In this job he was responsible for
improving process methods and process times of the production line. Furthermore, Shavim has

In his previous job, Sumanth was responsible for the Quality check of products during the

“After working and gaining adequate knowledge and experience in the field of Mechanical Engineer-

for management. Vishanth has worked in the field of mechanical designing of aircraft interior
structures for the aircraft Airbus A350 XWB. Vishanth’s dream is to start his own enterprise.

Vishnu is co-founder of a startup in India where he partly manages investors’ relations.

He wants to gain the necessary management insights and the technical knowledge that are
important for young intrepreneurs to succeed. Vishnu is inspired by the vision of Elon Musk.
He would also like to develop an electric vehicle technology for the betterment of society and
environment. Next to Elon Musk his father and Christian Von Koenigsegg, founder of Koenigsegg
are also his sources of inspiration.

Avinandita Dutta

Avinandita is interested in understanding the fast expanding electrical power market in Europe
and the strategic business expansion aiming at easy power exchange between countries. That is
why she choose to follow the M.Sc. in Management and Engineering in Electrical Power Systems.
The program will give her better insight in the organizational management of businesses.
She would like to change the Indian power market with her knowledge. Avinandita believes
that the power market can be made more prosumer based keeping renewable energy sources
in mind, especially because the solar power industry is rapidly growing in India.

Aya Kharatt
Syria
Aleppo University, Bachelor in Engineering in Electrical Power Systems

Aya would like to work in an NGO to develop electrical networks in developing countries.
She already has three years of post-graduate working experience in a hospital where she
arranged contracts for electrical machines and was responsible for maintenance procedures.
In her free time Aya likes travelling to new places, watching movies and doing voluntary work.

Hisham Jamal

Hisham is interested in Technology Management. While his engineering knowledge and skills help
him to understand the science behind new technologies, he wants to develop his management
skills to work together with the society. In his previous job as an Electrical Infrastructure Design
Engineer, he was responsible for the design of electrical networks. He also worked as Assistant
Project Manager wherein he was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned
projects.

Mahdi Karami

Mahdi’s life motto is “Live in the moment and accept what happens to me without judging
beforehand”. Besides engineering, Mahdi is interested in managing people and processes.
He has work experience in a Research & Development department and is used to reviewing

Osama has more than three years work experience as technical support for Air compressor and

Suren Shashikant Saptasagar

Suren’s life motto is: “Always have your eyes set on your goals and never give up. Family and friends
are the most important part of our life. Be thankful to them”. Suren has worked as a Senior executive
in Electrical maintenance department at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. LtdI where he was responsible for
carrying out routine and breakdown maintenance, installation of HVAC systems, implementation of
MEP projects and updating substation SLDs. After six years of study Suren decided to improve his
management skills and get updated on new technical aspects of engineering. He hopes to find a
future job in the field of sustainable energy solutions to contribute to a better world.

Practical information
Program information
The programs start in October of each year and have a
two-year duration. The language of instruction is English.
During the first year you will follow the engineering
courses. During the second year you will follow the
management courses and work on your final project.
You will accumulate a total of 120 ECTS. Upon successful
completion of the courses, you will receive a Master of
Science degree from RWTH Aachen University.
Application deadlines
The application deadline for all M.Sc. programs in
Management and Engineering is 1 March of each year.

Admission requirements
Admission to the M.Sc. in Management and Engineering
programs takes place on a competitive basis. Visit the program
page on www.msm.nl/management-and-engineering for
more program specific admission requirements. Candidates
should meet the following requirements in general:
• Bachelor in Engineering or Bachelor in Science related
to your envisioned study program awarded by an
internationally recognized university-level institution.
• Basic knowledge in business administration is requested
as an admission requirement. Students with no previous
knowledge in management have to participate in a
preparatory online course conducted by the school of
business and economics at the RWTH Aachen University
prior to the beginning of the course (July-Sep).
• Non-native English speaking candidates, must submit
evidence of proficiency in English.
• Moreover, practical professional experience of no less
than one year is required.
