SUBJECT: FUSING UNITS NOT MAKING YIELD

SYMPTOM:
The problem occurred as the temperature of the Pressure Roller becomes higher than the design target
causing gradual accumulation of toner on the Hot Roller surface.

(The customized firmware becomes effective only when selecting "Plain paper 2" setting.)

CAUSE:
This may occur if the customer regularly makes small jobs (1-3 print per job) in short intervals (within 2
minutes) that causes the Pressure Roller keeping high temperature.

SOLUTION:
A customized firmware has been released for customers that make low P/J and high frequency jobs. With
this firmware, the fusing temperature is reduced in 5 degrees for first 3 sheets of every job when selecting
Plain Paper 2.
