A malfunction recently occurred on the TPO7, which is caused by using thermal paper that does not comply with
the relevant specifications. Paper jams can arise with this paper and with special printouts.

The thermal paper that causes this problem is very thin.

The required specification is as follows:
2 2
Paper weight: 55g/m - 60g/m .
2
The paper causing the problem had a paper weight of 49g/m .

The error not only arises because of the inadequate paper weight. The optical density of the printed areas at the
top of a receipt must also be very high (e.g. logo print, image print, test print).

Both described factors interact with one another to cause the paper to bend badly (bi-metal effect).
The badly bent paper then moves up behind the cutter during the subsequent transport path run and can no
longer be grasped by the "Presenter". The receipts are printed and cut correctly, but are not transported from
the housing.

Paper for checking following an error message can be verified for compliance with the relevant specifications via
ServiceSupport@wincor-nixdorf.com in Paderborn.

Paper is fed more efficiently if the "flap_assd" of the Presenter is used (see Figure below).

Flap_assd (01750076679) installed in TP07

This paper feed option was included with every printer in the past (part of drum kit).

This "flap_assd" (01750076679) is now installed in every printer with immediate effect and is no longer part of
the drum kit. If this flap is available but not installed, it should be installed in the printer. The flap is available as a
spare part.

Further changes in the printer firmware in addition to the measure mentioned above
The current firmware is: Vers. 06.05.

The quality of the thermal elements has improved in recent months, with the result that the print intensity can be
reduced while maintaining the same print quality.
This firmware change means that the problem of very thin paper bending badly (bi-metal effect) is avoided as
well as the faulty transport of the receipt in the printer.
