Role Description

Role: Manager – PPIC Level: 3


Reporting to : Senior Manager – PPIC No. of Direct Reportees:

Production, Packing, Regulatory Affairs,
Packaging Development Cell, Quality
Assurance, Quality Control, Purchase,
Marketing

Purpose: To plan and monitor production planning activities for optimum utilization
of plant capacity.

Key Result Areas & Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure continuous availability of Packing Material


o Ordering Packing Material as per sales order.
o Scheduling of Packing Material as per priorities given by Demand Planning
Cell.
o Prepare line loading schedule as per material availability and priorities.
o Coordinate with Quality Control department for timely release of Packing
Material.
2. Inventory Management as per norms
o Ensure that inventory levels of Packing Material remain in sync with
prevailing business needs.
o Ensure optimum use of Packing Material and minimize its destruction.

3. Material Planning for new product launches


o Ordering & scheduling of packing material as per launch schedule.

o Coordinate with concerned departments for inputs required for Packing


Material of new products.
4. MIS & Reporting
o Collate data for various reports required from time to time.
o Drive weekly review meetings for taking stock of deviations occurring in
production/packing plan and execute corrective actions decided upon.
o Participate and give inputs for the Sales & Operations planning meeting.
5. Other Roles:
o Perform other duties & tasks as may be assigned from time to time by
superiors keeping in mind the exigency of the business.
Essential Knowledge & Skills to be possessed:
i. Graduate Degree in Engineering with an MBA (preferably Operations
Management).
ii. 5-6 years of experience of working in Material and Production planning
department of a pharmaceutical company engaged in formulations business.
iii. Hands on experience of working in PP module of SAP.
iv. Conversant with advanced features of MS Office (Word, Excel & Power
Point).
v. Good communication & coordination skills.
vi. Sharp analytical skills & a proactive approach to issues and assignments.
vii. Comfortable working in high pressure situations.
