Last meeting we illustrated the customer value memories of Mr. Manuud
the owner of Bristro Group of Restaurants in the Philippines. (3 Mins.)

3. Goals helps us believe in ourselves. Setting goal for our life sets our
ambition. Having a goal gives us something to plan and work for.
Processing: Most of us have big dreams that seem impossible to
accomplish. Proper goal setting can help break larger, intimidating
aspirations into smaller, more achievable stepping stones. Planning
towards these smaller goals not only makes it easier to formulate a definite
plan of action that we can start working on right away.

When creating Marketing Plan…
 Strategic marketing comes first because it deals with the direction
of your business growth in relation to your competitors.
 It supports the organizations vision and mission statement by
outlining how to achieve both.
 Strategic plans generally provide the broad, long-term picture.

 Next, comes tactical planning which consists of the actual


process involved in improving your competitive position.
 A tactical plan answers "how do we achieve our strategic plan?" It
outlines actions to achieve short-term goals, generally within a
year or less.

Example:
• Strategies can include things like increasing profits by reducing
manufacturing costs or increasing employee satisfaction by improving
employee training.
• Tactics include things like updating the packaging on a product or
changing employee hours.

Group Activity: (30 Mins)

HR strategic plan may include the following two strategic goals over the
next five years with related tactical plans that include detailed actions.

Discussing new concepts and practicing new General Direction: Provided are the list of tactical plan to execute for a
skills #1 specific goal, select and match which strategic goal it coordinate.
Each group should present and defend your answers.

Group 1 Strategic goal: Recruit, develop and retain a high-quality and
diverse staff.

Group 2 Strategic goal: Implement flexible work arrangements.

Tactical plan:

 Obtain salary survey data to benchmark the compensation of all


positions.
 Conduct job fairs at local schools.
 Develop an effective exit interview program to understand why
high-performers leave the organization.
 Conduct an employee survey to gather data on job satisfaction
and engagement.
 Provide effective in-house training for managers and supervisors
and identify and allocate funds for external training.
 Identify the types of flexible work arrangements available and
feasible for the workplace.
 Survey employees to identify the flexible work arrangements of
most interest.
 Create policies and procedures for the flexible work arrangements
that are implemented.
