I. NEEDS OF THE CLIENT
1. The building should have a proper lighting system for each
area/room with the following factors taken in
consideration:
The lighting design should be decent and appropriate
for the chosen type of business.
It should meet the minimum lighting requirements
based on the function of each room to reduce the risk
of health problems and occupational accidents.
The design must improve the productivity and
performance at work.
2. The building must use energy efficient luminaires to
minimize the operation and maintenance costs.
3. The building could use any luminaires to improve the
quality of the design.
4. The building must be provided with good ambiance
through the use of different luminaires.
III. CONSTRAINTS
1. Each member had no previous experience in the use of the
Dialux software thus, further research was conducted to
study its functions.
2. With the group being new on the different kinds of
luminaires, we had small problem in choosing the right
luminaire/s to achieve the needed illumination.
3. The lighting software (Dialux) requires high specifications
on the computer to be used which forced us to utilize only
one computer.
4. The time frame given to accomplish the project wasn’t
enough considering that the group was consisted of
beginners on this field.
5. Quality was prioritized in the design thus, the luminaires
used are more expensive.
